  • Warm, cozy, comfortable

"We stayed 4 weeks while visiting family and celebrating the birth of a grandchild. It was great to have a home away from home without imposing on relatives. Even though it was December, the apartment was warm, cozy, and comfortable. Phil from downstairs took care of all the shoveling and snowblowing, it was nice to have a cleared area to park and walk. Having a garage in the winter is another plus although we only used it one night. The beds and furniture were comfortable and rooms were roomy enough to have company. The location is very close to lots of shopping and entertainment options, as well as good restaurants. It only takes maybe 15 minutes or so to get to downtown Milwaukee. Some of our favorite restaurants we discovered close by were The Mad Rooster, Blues Egg, and Urban Joes. All 3 are only open for breakfast and lunch. We did cook in the apartment as well, the kitchen was fairly well stocked with pots, pans, silverware and dishes. A few things I would add would be a paring knife, potato peeler, pot holders and some larger bowls for serving and mixing. All in all it was a great place for a long stay."

  • Perfect home for our group of 7

"We're from Chicago and decided to spend spring break doing fun stuff in Milwaukee. Our group was 2 families with a total of 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 10-12). We thought it would be more comfortable if we could find a house to rent instead of hotel rooms, so we were thrilled to find this house only 30 minutes from Milwaukee. It was perfect for our group because it had 2 master suites with private balconies and beautiful water views and then 2 extra bedrooms that worked out well for the kids. Having 3 full baths was great, although our master bath tub didn't drain very well. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Unfortunately, the garbage disposal sprung a leak during our stay, but the owner, Jim, was very responsive and actually REPLACED it unobtrusively while we were out during the day. So any future renters will get to use a new garbage disposal. We also appreciated having 2 separate dining areas that could each accommodate all 7 of us. The two living/family areas were comfortable, and it was nice that the kids and adults could hang out together, or separately, within the house. Lastly, we liked having the option to park our vehicles IN the garage. We only parked 1 of the 2 cars in the garage during our stay, but both could have fit easily into the extra deep garage. The only thing that was unusual was the option to rent bed linens and towels, or bring our own. We've rented many houses and have never encountered this before. We opted to bring our own which wasn't a huge inconvenience, but it was still weird to arrive and have NO towels, not even kitchen towels. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would consider renting this property again. Being ON the water, it would be great for a summer vacation, and with all the trees, I'm sure it's gorgeous in the fall."

  • Comfortable and cozy!

"Nice home with all of the conveniences located on a large wooded lot. Granite counter tops and new applicances, 3 bedrooms with 2 and a half baths with areas cots would work well. Lots of outdoor entertaining spots include a large deck and a huge fire pit area. Fairly private. My family stayed here over new years 2016 and had a great time! Owner was very accommodating."

  • Beautiful!

"We loved the cottage and farm. The hosts were very nice, not at all intrusive, but there if you needed anything. Brunch everyday was great as well! We hope to stay there again."
