  • Lovely, well built and well stocked apartment. Very comfortable and private.

"Larry and LuAnn have created a very nice space. They've thought of everything anyone could need to cook, relax, and enjoy. I visited with two friends and we enjoyed the views; were able to prepare our meals using the well stocked kitchen; enjoyed visiting the antique shop - where to our surprise - one of us found a child's rocker she had been hunting for; we enjoyed a leisurely walk to the historic Methodist church down the road and the accompanying cemetery (interesting to guess stories, see dates, see military markers etc.,) and just visit and relax. Many thanks! Very easy to reserve, find and enjoy."

  • Very clean, comfortable, and well stocked.

"Perfect spot for a quick getaway, with a wonderful, spacious kitchen that has everything we needed to cook meals every day. (Also, wine glasses, which are a necessity of life for me and which I'd forgotten to bring.) This area is rather beautiful and one can imagine there is much to do in the summer - we had fun anyway, driving through the villages and enjoying the scenery. Weather during our stay was on the extreme end for winter but it's a very comfortable place to be stuck in for a few days. The open, spacious interior and lots of natural light help from feeling shut in. I suppose it's worth mentioning we didn't have any cell service (At&t), no internet, and limited cable. None of this was a concern to us, being more easily entertained with books, some of our own DVD's, and the Nintendo provided. Also found out Wisconsin public TV has really interesting programming. Inconsistency of pressure and temperature in the shower is probably the only real nitpick I would have, which is beyond trivial in light of what you get here. The place was as clean as any hotel and more affordable than most all of those. Being close to my home, I would certainly consider renting here again."

  • Memorial Day Family Weekend Getaway and We loved it!

"I don't know where to begin! It is an absolutely perfect retreat. When all of us first walked in we were struck by the charm. We explored every room and couldn't help but feel happy! It was so cozy and relaxing. The setting is amazing as we were able to enjoy the peacefulness relax and enjoy time outdoors, this is the place. I'm a first time user of Vrbo. After narrowing my search I decided to contact the property owner. She's exceptionally kind and answered my questions on the property, location and area activities. After booking, we were so excited to enjoy our time in the country. In arriving to the property, it’s clear home much love and attention is put into this home. It feels so warm and welcoming – our friends and family immediately settled in . The home is beautifully constructed very comfortable beds nice high vaulted ceilings. And the kitchen…whether experienced or novice, any cook will love all the amenities and accessories. The property is equally as wonderful as the home and combines open space with wooded landscape, and a bubbling trout stream. I can confidently say it feels like a little slice of Heaven! If you are looking for an escape from hectic life happenings and want to enjoy peace and quiet this is definitely the place for you! The owner is absolutely wonderful and you can tell they go above and beyond to make your visit the best you have ever had! Thank you! This was just what our family and friends needed. The kids were outside every day, exploring the property and enjoying the stream. We will definitely come be back!"

  • Peaceful and relaxing!

"My friend and I stayed at this beautiful cabin for a three-day weekend. The pictures online don't do it justice. It's even cuter and nicer in person. The entire place was absolutely spotless and we really appreciated how clean everything was. I slept in the main bedroom on the first floor and it was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. My friend slept in one of the beds upstairs. The cabin itself is very secluded which is exactly what we wanted. It was really peaceful. There is a shooting range nearby so you can hear gunshots occasionally throughout the day but it's not very loud. We were here the first week of October so it was a little too cold to take a dip in the pond. One note I would make is that although it states this is in the description for the cabin, I didn't realize that the only source of heat is from the potbelly stove. The stove was great and easy to make a fire. The owners kept the firewood well stocked. But if you're renting in colder weather, keep in mind that you will have to keep the fire going all night. It ended up being fun to keep the fire stoked and we enjoyed roughing it for the weekend! We rented bikes for the day at a place called Speedy's bike rental in Sparta Wisconsin. They were awesome. We got fully outfitted with bikes and bike helmets and had a blast riding on the beautiful Elroy-Sparta bike trail. I highly recommend that! Last, need to emphasize that there is no cell service or Internet service at all. Both my friend and I have AT&T for our cell service and were not able to get a signal until we got into Sparta. Even in Sparta which is about 25 minutes away we were only able to get a good signal in the Walgreens parking lot. Other than that even in Sparta we found that the service was very very spotty. Still we had fun being off the grid for the weekend without any communications. It ended up being a very relaxing and fun weekend. The owners recommended the Evergreen Supper Club. It was exactly what you would hope for in the supper club. Would definitely go back. I would recommend this cabin without hesitation. I plan on coming back again next year."
