  • Relaxing and Serene get-a-way

"So much beauty at this property! We went hiking through the woods on the trails, walked by the pond and enjoyed the sounds from the waterfall, and were able to view the beautiful hillside/bluffs with all the trees and their changing leaf colors. They have a great outdoor area for a fire pit area to just sit and relax! Inside we found that the kitchen was nicely stocked with the usual kitchen supplies/utensils. The beds/bedding are very comfortable. The home décor is peaceful, relaxing and tastefully done. This property is quiet/serene, far enough away from "things" but a quick drive to the small towns if you'd like to eat out or even a quick drive to La Crosse. Would definitely return, and would highly recommend this place. The owners are very attentive and accommodating!"

"Everything was great. The photos online do not do justice of the view and the lake. The lake is super quiet, warm and calm. At night it looks like glass. We took out the paddle boards and cruised around also watching the bald eagles flying in the trees. We had a small fishing boat that we carried down to the water to go fishing on. The other boat we used to go to the surrounding lakes, which were also beautiful! During the day we were either on the water, rising our bikes or going for a stroll through the country roads. Truly pleasurable and a great time. The owners were pleasant and very accommodating. They want you to feel like you are at home and want you to relax."

"This was my family's second summer vacation to Ootsburg; first time staying at Blue Heaven. The cottage is adorable and very clean. It is was small but the layout and storage make it seem much bigger. The washer and dryer was very nice with two little ones. The kitchen was well-stocked. It was easy and enjoyable to cook most of our meals at the cottage. However, I would recommend meal planning and packing spices and condiments from home. Our 5 and 1 year old slept on the sleeping porch; there was enough room to setup a pack-n-play (although we had to collapse it when not in use) and sliding glass door was nice for nap time. The loft was very comfortable for my husband. The house is far from the walk-in access point and is very quiet and peaceful. The grounds and beach area on the property are very well maintained; lots of space to play and build in the sand. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. The area surrounding Ootsburg is very nice when the kids were ready for break from the beach. We have enjoyed bookworm gardens, kohler state park, possibilities playground, the waterpark at blue harbor (late day passes are $14 per person at 5pm) and day trip to Green Bay to visit the National Railway Museum and Title Town Brewery for lunch. We can't wait to return!"
