  • Terrific, cozy place in a fantastic location!

"Wow! That pretty much sums up what a terrific place this was! We were looking for a week escape from the heat of the central valley in CA, a sort of getaway retreat for my husband & I. The studio apartment above the garage is very roomy ( bigger than the photos indicate) , with great decor, beautiful shower & lots windows that open to provide nice breezeways & even a cute balcony where we sat to have morning coffee or late afternoon wine. Werner was very helpful along the entire process, providing great communication & direction, as well a packet of information about the area. We were fortunate to meet the owners, as we crossed paths a few times during our stay & they were extremely hospitable, offering bear spray, trekking poles & /or anything else we needed to make our stay complete. The retreat has a small kitchen with a full sized fridge, perfect for making breakfast & storing snacks - Aspens Market just up the road is a nice 'gourmet' choice, without going all the way into Jackson. The resort, lifts, gondola are all walking distance from the property & we did several amazing hikes right there at JH resort, as well as enjoyed late afternoon beers at the top of the Gondola ( free ride after 4:30!) during our stay. Access to the National Park in only a few miles up the road. Thank you again, we will no doubt be back!"

  • Great place to stay!

"We stayed at Wild Rain for 3 days while exploring Grand Teton National Park. It's an easy drive from the log cabin into Jackson, or GNP. Phil and Beth were great hosts and the cabin provided pretty much everything we needed. One note of caution- if you have trouble with stairs or have young children, this probably isn't the place for you. The stairs to the bathroom and bedroom( which you have to pass through to get to the bathroom) are very steep and open. The cabin is attached to the owners private home and even though it's right off the main road, it's a very quiet and peaceful location."

  • Beautiful, comfortable, retreat

"We stayed here during a trip to Yellowstone for three nights. The property was well maintained, cozy and deceptively large! We were two families totaling ten people and the property was perfect for all of us to fit comfortably. The kids, six of them, took over the basement for most of our stay and the adults took full advantage of the backyard deck for stargazing and kicking back after a full day of sightseeing in Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. It was a wonderful property and I would not hesitate booking it if I visit the area again. No complaints about the property but one of the local bars is not friendly towards foreigners. I did rip them on Yelp. Keep that in mind if you are visiting the area. Crazy how when you leave California, you realize how intolerant the rest of the country can be at times. Other than our experience at that bar, the property was AWESOME and perfect for our little vacation. Claudia, the property manager was very attentive and quick to respond to my questions prior to arriving at the home. It was beautiful, clean, and had a well equipped kitchen too. It was a great bargain too seeing how many of the hotels closer to Yellowstone would have averaged out to almost the same amount we paid to book the home but we would have been crammed into a hotel room during our stay rather than enjoying the expansive backyard and living areas this house provided."

  • Third stay at Grey Wolf!

"I have been traveling to Yellowstone annually for fishing and vacation for over 10 years and always stay in the Cooke City/ Silver Gate area. Grey Wolf is by far the best accommodations we've found so far. The property is accurately described in the listing, is always very clean when we arrive and is reasonably priced. The storage room has everything you could possibly need as far as household supplies. The beds are very comfortable. Also, we like the fact that it is very close to the park entrance yet near good eating establishments as well. Grey Wolf is just off the beaten path enough to enjoy a bit of seclusion in your own section of the forest. I've taken my family there and at other times fishing buddies ... we are always pleased. After three yearly stays in a row, Christy and I are on first name basis and she is readily available by phone during my stay...but it's usually her calling me to see if everything's OK! I use VRBO a lot and this is one ranks among the highest of satisfaction for me."
