  • Fantastic place to stay!

"My husband and I stayed here over a long weekend with another couple, and we were all impressed by how comfortable and accommodating this condo was! Parking is literally 30 seconds away from the front door, and the building itself isn't one of those monstrosities further up Ocean Highway where you need a map to find the place. Also you're as close as you can get to the beach without actually being on the dune. The 83rd street beach entrance is literally at the end of the parking lot. This is the perfect place if you like to hit the beach before going out the rest if the day and then come back to enjoy a couple peaceful beverages while listening to the waves. The condo also has a coffee grinder and coffee maker. So you can get your coffee ready to enjoy the sunrise as well. Finally, they have an electronic lock on the door so you don't have to worry about picking up, losing, sharing, or returning a key. All around, this place is great and worth every penny!"

  • Wonderful Place to Stay

"We came down for an 80th birthday with our family, including grandsons and 2 dogs. I have to say that Anchor In is a true gem of a house. We never felt like we were in a hotel, rather we were at home. The kitchen is stocked with everything that you need. The walk to the beach is so easy even with two grandchildren under the age of 2. The house is very comfortable and has all the modern comforts. The screened porch was a big hit as well as sitting on the front of the house. Having 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs provided a great place for the grandsons to stay with their family. Also, being dog friendly was great for us. The dogs loved the beach and the walks that they took. I highly recommend Anchor In"

  • Great Family Reunion Set Up

"We had a mini family reunion in the mountains. My wife and I with our son, daughter-in-law, daughter and two grandchildren. The house was perfect for us. Our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren took the downstairs and were able to spread out in their own apartment. My wife and I had the master suite and daughter took the other main floor bedroom. The loft was not used by us but could have easily accommodated another couple. The location is ideal, 1/2 way between Highlands and Cashiers. We spent time in both towns and spent money shopping in both towns. Plenty of neat shops particularly on Main Street in Highlands. We took the grands trout fishing down in Scaly Mountain and hit all the waterfall viewing spots nearby. We did hike up Whiteside which you need to be in shape for. It is about a mile one way with about 800 feet of elevation change, but worth the effort for the view of the continental divide. Food shopping is easy with Bryson's in Highlands and Ingles in Cashiers. We found Dusty's Meat market on the Dillard Road coming out of Highlands. He cut some beautiful filets which we did on the grill. We ate several breakfast/lunch meals at the Fresh Market in Highlands and got great food, it is semi self service though. Of course we found Kilwins for the grandkids (ha! Grandpa's favorite). It was our ideal getaway. Family retreat. Four couples can easily stay here. If you visit you will enjoy the place. We will be back!"

  • Fourth of July

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our fourth trip to the island and we stayed here over the 4th of July. Kona is a great area and staying in Keahou Estates is fantastic if you are looking for sweeping panoramic views and quiet! You are about 15-20 minutes away from downtown Kona (not a lot of restaurant choices but there are a few, however if you are staying at the house in general you are cooking your meals and sitting on the Lanai enjoying the fabulous sunsets). For better dining options you need to go about 35-45 minutes up the shore to Waikoloa village Where there are several options for dinner. There is also a nice beach at waikaloa that is good for young kids, but if you like waves then go to Hapuna which is another 10-15 minutes north. Bigger waves can be found on the south side of the island (green sand beach which we visit every time). There is also a lovely black sand beach about 15-20 minutes past the south point road exit. About the house.....Its beautiful and we would definitely return. The upkeep could be a little better but it is the ocean and Hawaii so sometimes that's to be expected. We recommend the surround sound get repaired so it can be used as well as the receiver which controls most of the media (they were not working). Outside of some other small issues which Kona Coast took care of promptly everything was wonderful! Kudos to Kona Coast and their professionalism! And a warm Mahalo to the owners for opening up their beautiful home to us! This is a driving island and there are many great places to go so explore!"
