I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Amanda Rodriguez and I am the house manager of the Gordon House. My studies began at Boston University with a focus on liberal arts, but most recently I have attended Kaplan University where I am pursuing degrees in both psychology and hospitality management. I have worked in the hospitality business for upwards of 15 years and have managed Mr. Gordon's properties for approximately 5 years. Prior to that I co-managed Old Towne Artisans & La Cocina Restaurant; a shopping & dining complex comprised of 2 restaurants and several local artisan shops in Tucson, Arizona. After moving to New York I managed Estia's Little Kitchen, a popular cafe in the Hampton's.
I myself have had the opportunity to viist the Gordon House and can say first hand that it is the most relaxing atmosphere I have ever experienced. The beauty and serenity of this vacation home far surpassed any expectations I could possibly have had. The easy, carefree living experience of this villa, perched high on the cliffs of Dian Bay, is indeed far from the complexities of everyday life. Here, one can swim, sail, sunbathe, jet- ski, or just read a good book on the covered veranda, which overlooks both the bay and the ocean. There are countless, exciting adventures that visitors of the Gordon House can experience and I would like to help make them happen. I hope you will think of The Gordon House as your very own island getaway that you will want to visit time and time again.

Choose the Gordon House for majority of grooms family to stay in as wedding was just down the street from the Grand Pinepple Resort (wedding site). Pictures truly do match the amenities provided at the house. Although steps down to patio and Dian Bay are a bit steep, definitely worth it. Step right down into bay, and dry off on stone patio with breeze blowing to keep you cool.Gorgeous views!!! Housekeeper Marilyn was not only our cook and housekeeper but also provided information regarding island information. We also were provided help from her daughter (wedding dinner) and was provided transportation by her son in law to avoid driving (on left side of road). Made you feel secure working with people you had gotten to know. Be it the time of year, but only negative is that we were eaten up by mosquitos!! House also has no AC and netting you see in pictures over bed is not decorative- they are definitely needed. We learned alittle too late for us, but we went through 4 cans of OFF and lots of calamine lotion. Something I think management should have been aware of and provided mosquito foggers and candles to keep them away- we ended up paying for coils and candles ourselves- bitten up already at that point. Please check on this condition by season you will be visiting- never too much information. Great place to eat is at Long Bay down the road Mama's Pasta- no mama but great pizza, and seafood pastas. The Gordon House is just across the bay from the Verandoah Resort, and can see back side of Devil's Bridge. This location is a place to relax, read a book and get a tan, not close to town, harbours or night life activities. Definitely would recommend for that usage with mosquito disclaimer. Besides the itching, great memories.
Owner response:I am glad that you enjoyed your stay at the Gordon House. It really is the most relaxing environment I have ever experienced. Just a note about the mosquito issue...sometimes after long periods of rain there is an increase in the mosquito population. We do our best to keep this under control with mosquito magnets. I have never had anyone mention the mosquitoes to me before but I truly apologize for any inconvenience they may have caused you. I will look into it immediately and I thank you for bringing it to my attention. Thanks again, Amanda Rodriguez, property manager

My husband and I visited the Gordon House on our Honeymoon. It was the most relaxed we both had been in a year after planning a wedding. The villa offers such beautiful vistas and has a calmness about it that one can only just sit back and relax. Marilyn (the housekeeper) always started our day with a wonderful breakfast, then we were usually off to enjoy the beach at Long Bay which is only a few minutes walk away or to explore the island and all it had to offer. I recommend the Gordon House Villa to anyone who is looking for a relaxing holiday or an island adventure. The island offers sailing, fishing, kayaking, golf not to mention so many other activities.Jon and I hope one day to revisit this island paradise.
