Cozy living room with large stone, wood-burning fireplace - Estes Park, Colorado - Cabin in the Rocky Mountains This rental vacation retreat, only 3 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park (and right across the road from the Big Thompson river), was built with charm, integrity and beautiful craftsmanship which has been maintained throughout the years. Here you will find semi-secluded, Old Estes charm, updated with today's amenities (including high-speed wireless internet),in one of the nicest cabin rentals in Estes Park. Nestled among pine and aspen trees, Whispering Pines is a unique & premium historic 1928 property on 1 1/2 acres with mountain views, rock outcroppings, and even a horse corral and shed. This home is filled with tasteful and comfortable furnishings, and the town of Estes Park is only a 1/2 mile walk away. This is a perfect place to come and escape the summer heat as well as enjoy the serenity of the mountains year round, and a wonderful place for people who appreciate the grace of year's past. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed (and a 3/4 bath with claw foot tub plus heated tile floor), bedroom 2 has a full size bed, bedroom 3 (back sleeping porch)has a queen and a twin, and the front all-season porch has 2 queen sofa sleepers. Recently restored, the original maid's quarters with a separate entrance now sleeps two, with a half bath. You'll love, as we do, to enjoy the front screened porch-- the perfect place to play cards, sleep, read, sip a cup of your favorite beverage, visit with friends or family, or just relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Big Thompson River. There are lots of windows to take in the beauty and tranquility of the mountains, including the deer and elk that often wander through. The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is just 5 minutes away, with many, many trails to hike, snowshoe or even for backcountry skiing. The Eldora downhill ski area is just a 45 minute drive away. We provide a collection of DVD's, games, and books, including mountain interest and local information. We also have extras to make your vacation comfortable and safe-- first aid kit, flash light, fire extinguishers, etc. A well-behaved dog is allowed for an additional fee. Much effort has been taken to care for and furnish our mountain cabin and we want our guests to feel welcome and comfortable, and to enjoy it as much as we do. We are proud to provide a clean and also a smoke-free environment.(Smoking is allowed outside). This Estes Park cabin has it all--lots of character, a large wooded lot providing privacy without isolation, across the road from the river with no buildings in-between to spoil the view or muffle the sound, walking distance from downtown, a huge stone wood-burning fireplace, mountain views, high-speed wireless internet and plenty of room inside and out to spread out and relax. You couldn't ask for more in Estes Park lodging--a perfect vacation or holiday getaway. This is a place you truly won't forget!
