The “Whispering Pines Cabin in the Woods” was truly a perfect retreat for a family reunion. Sue, the owner, was a delight to work with- from the first time we spoke to her to after we returned home. The location offers the best of both worlds. It offers solitude, but is close to Estes Park’s wonderful shops, restaurants and “Fun City." During our stay we visited the art fair and walked through the town, taking in all the little shops to get souvenirs.

The moment we arrived, we realized the cabin was bigger than it looked in the photos. After walking in the front door, there’s a large combination dining area/living room, with a huge stone fireplace and hearth. The living room features a flat screen television VHS/DVD player with an assortment of videos and DVDs. Readers enjoyed browsing a nice collection of books. The Wi-Fi connection was great and we used it to research local activities and restaurants. The dining room had a large table that comfortably sat everyone in our group (ten people) for meals and board game evenings. There was a gas fireplace that keeps the place warm and toasty. The cabin’s craftsman style décor and lodge furnishings made the interior feel very cozy and quaint. The kitchen included all the dishes and utensils one needed for cooking and cleaning up. There was even a washer and dryer, which made it convenient for doing a load of our dirty clothes.

The cabin had lots of room to spread out. The bedrooms were comfortable with rustic décor. There was another bedroom called the “Maid’s Room.” It boasted a futon, half bath, and TV/DVD player. The cubs enjoyed watching their shows and videos in the Maid’s Room. However, the claw foot bathtub was a favorite for all. The claw foot bathtub bathroom served three bedrooms. There was another bathroom with tub and shower off the kitchen. There were plenty of towels, soaps, lotions, hair dryers and toiletries for everyone in our group.

We all loved the glassed-in front porch for reading and drinking a cup of coffee. One morning, we had the pleasure of watching a huge bull elk scraping his antlers on a tree in the front yard. The front porch was a great place for relaxing and watching the cubs playing on the swing in the front yard or having fun with a game of horseshoes. Our group enjoyed many games together in the front yard and will treasure the memories. It was a weekend we will always cherish and hope to return to again and again. During our visit, we celebrated two birthdays and we couldn’t have imagined a better place to pass the good times. You will love this cozy and warm “Cabin in the Woods.” I know this Bear had a wonderful time!

  We just arrived home last night after a long drive but it was well worth it. Colorado is a beautiful state especially the Estes Park region. Your cabin is so charming and rustic. We could have stayed forever. It is one of our most memorable stays anywhere. Thanks very much for allowing us to enjoy your property. I hope we can return.

  We've never wanted to live in a vacation house, but this place is so warm and unique. We felt right at home from the second we arrived. We had a wonderful vacation. Thank you for sharing your home.

  We love the whole house. It fit our needs for everyone to have their own bedrooms. My husband and I chose the sun room. Loved the windows all around to see the snow falling and to wake in the night to the moon and stars. We did have to move some of the furniture out to be a bit more comfortable, but loved having our morning coffee there. The table in the dining room was big enough for all of our needs, from playing games to having our Christmas dinner. The gas fireplace was also a hit, as the little space heater that really looked like a nice little fire place in the corner. The kitchen was very well stocked with the dishes and pots and pans. We were closed enough to walk into Estas but far enough away for piece and quiet. Sue was very nice in answering my questions and giving us direction to do a drive by to see what we had rented. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice and big the place was. We can't wait to stay at Whispering Pines again!

  We loved our time at Whispering Pines. It is a beautiful, roomy cabin where you truly feel at home. The owners have put lots love into this place and every detail was taken care of. It is very well furnished and such a relaxing place to stay. I would highly recommend this property. Our only disappointment was that all three bedrooms upstairs do not have their own doors. To get to the bedroom with all the windows you have to go through another bedroom. We had three couples and two children in our party so one couple ended up staying in the maids quarter, which was actually very comfortable for only having a futon. Overall, our trip was great and I would recommend this cabin.

  Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

  Whispering Pines is a wonderful get-a-way. The property is beautiful, the home is warm and cozy, clean as a whistle, and has everything you could possibly need while away.In other words it was well stocked. The location is ideal, it is private, but close to town, The Thompson River is right across the street, the house is perched on a hill and surrounded by nature. We were close to hiking trails in the Rocky Mt. Nat'l Park and there was even a great dog park right in the town of Estes Park where we could exercise the dog. I would highly rec. Whispering Pines if you are looking to visit the Estes Park area.

  Our family of seven (two grandparents, two parents, and three children ages 4 and 1 (twins)) stayed at Whispering Pines for a week in August and had a wonderful vacation. The location is perfect--you can't easily walk to town, especially with children, but it's a very quick drive. Also very close to Rocky Mountain National Park. The home is beautiful and comfortable. Great kitchen with all the amenities necessary. Newish washer and dryer and dishwasher. Loved being able to arrive home with clean clothes! And great amenities outside as well--loved the riverside location--we saw elk nearly every day. Our son loved the swing in the front yard and the horseshoe game. And we loved the grill and picnic table. Great television and dvd collection and many great books and maps in the home as well. Sleeping arrangements are comfortable and the home was a great choice for our family. Very family friendly home--love that there are no stairs and that a pack n play was provided. We hope to return in future summers!!!

  Unlocking the door and stepping across the threshold to your cabin was a step back in time. It has so much character. The sleeping porch was perfect for my outdoorsy husband, and my daughter and I found the bedrooms cozy. My teenage son loved his so-called apartment with separate entrance and tv. We found everything clean and satisfactory and would rent from you again in a heartbeat.

  I wanted to let you know just how wonderful our stay was in your house. I found the cabin to be very clean, on top of being well supplied with anything we could possibly want. I really appreciate all of the helpful, clear information and hints that you provided, and we had no trouble with appliances or anything else. My grandsons enjoyed the swing and collecting pinecones, and we all enjoyed the airiness, especially with the windows open at night. My daughters mentioned everyday what a perfect vacation pick I found!
