“Halfway to Heaven” is a town home located on top of Screamer Mountain in charming Clayton, Georgia. We can accommodate 8 guests for $650/week (see rate schedule). Our home is quiet and secluded, but only minutes from Clayton's many fine restaurants and a multitude of outdoor activities. When you first walk in, you'll be amazed at the stunning view. You can see 3 states from the windows and decks on all 3 floors of Halfway to Heaven. Our ideal location atop Screamer (at an elevation of 3,000', facing southeast) gives you awe inspiring, panoramic views of the southern terminus of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With over 1,500 sq.ft. of living space, you'll have plenty of room to relax and feel at home. We furnished this home with the goal of pleasing ourselves as well as our guests - we stay here quite often - and we're sure that you will be very comfortable.
The upper level is devoted entirely to the Master bedroom and bath, with its own covered deck, king bed, whirlpool tub by the window, shower, minibar, television, and even a digital piano!
The main level has a 2 car carport, with overflow parking available nearby. The living room has a flat screen HD TV with Dish network, DVD/VCR, and a router that delivers free Wi-Fi throughout the home. We have an assortment of family friendly DVD's and VCR's along with a small library, including several books describing the many activities available to visitors in Rabun county. The sofa and love seat have built-in recliners, and an amazingly realistic electric fireplace can be enjoyed year round. The main level bedroom has a half bath and a full sized sofa sleeper with a 4" memory foam topper. Part of the deck has been screened and sports a Pawley’s Island hammock, plus tables and chairs for outside dining for 8. A grill is available in the carport, and the kitchen is fully outfitted, and stocked with most condiments and essentials. The dining area has seating for 8, and counter stools for 2. We are "kid friendly" as well, with a strap - in high chair, porta-crib/playpen, and a chest of toys.
The lower level has 2 bedrooms with queen beds, a full bath, an expansive shared deck, and a laundry room.
If you are looking for an easily accessible mountaintop hideaway that is supremely comfortable with breathtaking, awesome views, look no further! The sunrises are gorgeous, and the afternoons are captivating as you watch the mountain shadows deepen. The view changes from minute to minute as the sun angle and cloud cover changes. Even rainy days can provide spectacular sights from our vantage point. With easy, paved access, a feeling of total serenity, and charming Clayton with its wonderful shops and restaurants nearby, you'll be glad you came to visit us at "Halfway to Heaven". - Chattooga river excitement is minutes from our door, along with Tallulah Falls, Black Rock and Moccasin Creek State Parks. There are 5 lakes in Rabun county with boat rentals available. The Foxfire museum is close by and definitely worth a visit. The Bartram trail, Appalachian trail, Chattooga River trail and many other outstanding hiking trails are nearby. Trout fishing, mountain biking, horse riding, golf ... so much to do, so little time!

$650 weekly (any 7 nights);$250 for any 2 nights; $90 ea. addn. night
3 night minimum on holiday weekends
5% county accomodation tax; $75 cleaning fee
$50 pet fee. Inside, housebroken pets only; must be free of fleas and ticks.
$100 reservation/security deposit, returned after your stay
Half of rent due 45 days prior, remaining rent due 14 days prior.
You must be 25 or older to rent our property.
All funds must clear before occupancy. Please allow sufficient time for this!

The Unique Benefits at this Townhome
Our mountaintop location is quiet and serene, with an amazing view of the southern terminus of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There's a lot to do here, including hiking, boating, fishing, golfing, shopping for crafts or local produce, or browsing around charming Clayton. We're only 5 minutes from Clayton, but our location on the opposite side of the mountain from town provides you with a view of the Chattahoochee National Forest that is mostly devoid of human presence. There's no better way to top off an adventure filled day than to enjoy a glass of locally grown wine from one of the decks at Halfway to Heaven!

For the first 10 minutes after our arrival, all we could do was stand on the deck and look in amazement at the view. "Halfway to Heaven" it truly is! What an amazing vista. As for the accommodations - you have thought of everything. It is easy to feel at home here because nothing is missing! We really appreciated all the "amenities". Our stay was short, but we would love to come again - and I will be sure to tell many people about VRBO and "Halfway to Heaven". If only they could see this view! Thanks for everything!

My family and I just spent two weeks at Halfway to Heaven. I must say the place exceeded our expectations. The townhouse is extremely comfortable and has everything that you could possibly need for a great stay. The view is simply magnificent. Pictures are not enough to capture the beauty of such a wonderful place. Richard and Carol are very pleasant and accommodating. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

My wife and I certainly enjoyed our three weeks here. The amenities are nice and the view fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the master suite and the screened porch. We also loved the close proximity to Clayton, Ingles, the book store and Reeves hardware.
