  We have has been vacationing in the Outer Banks for the last 15 years..and have stayed in the best homes on the banks. We and our friends all agreed that Anchor's Hold provided us with the MOST relaxing and memorable vacation to date. The home, the pool, the amenities and the owners were tops in every aspect!!! The location provided beautiful views of the ocean, horses walking by every day, and the most spectacular sunsets from the ships watch. Even my dog was relaxed and had a blast! When riding home, we were already planning our next year's trip. We hope to return to this home for many years to come, and plan on considering this our "second home". Thanks for sharing this property with us!

  This was our third year at Carova Heights and we plan to go back again next year. The house has everything we need. And we love that we can bring our dog. The pool is utilized almost all day every day. And on days when we feel like staying in, the house is super comfy with an excellent view of the ocean. As a matter of fact, it has excellent views all around. Can't say enough good things about this house and location. Absolutely love it.

  The house was perfect, 11 of us slept comfortably there, if there were any problems phone numbers were all listed on refridgerator and issues resolved that day (ie: propane for gas grill, umbrella for beach). Everything promised with view, dolphins, horses was very accurate.

  This is our second trip to Carova Heights in as many years. We needed to changes weeks from last year, and the owners were very accomodating and helped to coordinate with another party. This year we had 5 adults, 3 kids, and 2 dogs...all but 2 of us making the drive from St. Louis. While long, the drive was well worth it to put us 8 miles up the beach. My understanding is the owners add new ammenities each year, and this year was no different. Their home is clean and comfortable, and being 30 minutes from the nearest grocery store/restaurants, is well equipped to handle a week away from it all. Unfortunately, I did have to work about 20 hours while there, but the owners have taken care of that as well. While cell service for some carries is almost none existent, I was able to have conference calls and VPN in to work with no trouble. The wild horses of the area made their daily visits to the house, and the seafood delivery was excellent. I'm sure this won't be our last visit to Carova Heights!

  We just finished a wonderful week at Corova Heights. It was everything we had expected and more. The house is beautiful, just like being in your own home, the kitchen is fully stocked with equipment for foor and drink preparation (there is even a margarita maker) and the other amenities are great. Although our visit was later in the season, we had wonderful weather and were able to enjoy the beach, swimming pool and hot tub. The views from the house and decks are wonderful and it is a brief stroll to the ocean. It was as if we owned the beach there was so little traffic on many days. Our dog Sophie loved the house too. She (and we) were fully relaxed by the end of our visit and hated to leave. We can't wait to return next year.

  The description matched what we found on our arrival. The home is beautiful and very well maintained, clean, spacious and comfortable. The ocean views were wonderful and we had visits from the wild horses every day. The beach is great, just need to watch the cars if you have little ones. We had crabs and fresh fish delivered right to our door--awesome!! A truly memorable vacation . I'd highly recommend this home to anyone that loves the ocean and nature. We can't wait to get back to Carova!

  This is our 5th trip to OBX since 2003, but our first to the 4-wheel drive area. I will never go south of Corolla again! With their smooth Sunday turnover, and the countless amenities provided, we were able to enjoy our week without a problem. The wild horses roaming the property, the short walk to the beach, and afternoons by the pool provided everyone, from both our mothers to our kids something special to enjoy. Enjoy our dog had things to enjoy (mostly stalking birds and eating fiddler crabs, but did enjoy some beach time too). While driving on the beach has it's uncertainties, we didn't have any issues. We did see some AWD vehicles make it, but some 4-wheel drive vehicles stuck, so travel at your own risk! The 4 other houses we rented were all managed by the large property management companies in OBX, and none could compare to the personal service we experienced. We are already planning next year's vacation at Carova Heights!

  My husband and I, along with our dogs, declaire Carova Heights to be one of our favorite vacations ever. This place offers everything and so much more than you could ever expect! Privacy, beaches, long walks, wild horses, swimming pool and pool table made for an unforgetable week. We also enjoyed the near by oyster bars and small town feel. We can not wait to go back! I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the good life!

  We had an auspicious beginning getting into Carova after dark but once we traversed the dunes and got to our destination we were in 7th heaven! The house is wonderfully appointed with anything you might need, the pool was awesome to come home to after a full day on the beach and the horses were beautiful and visited us every morning. The best part-no congestion on the beach and you can bring your dog on the beach. Our dog spent more time body surfing than we did! There is also something extremely cool about driving on the beach! All in all two thumbs up! Great job Rande! Carova rocks!

  This house gets better each year we visit. This was our 3rd consecutive year vacationing in this home and every year the owners make improvements to make the house even better. I have never had a more positive experience in renting a home in OBX. If there is a problem, it is addressed immediately and you can't get that from any rental company! The location is great and the amenities in the house are wonderful! Can't wait until our trip back in 2011!!
