This is a one bedroom secluded 1,000 foot plantation style cottage situated within a 10,000 square foot lush tropical garden. Three outdoor living areas provide amazing retreat and entertainment options.

The outdoor wood fire surrounded with deep seating is the perfect evening garden lounge. The gas fireside dining deck provides a great sunrise coffee venue or romantic fireside dining experience. Surrender to the palapa spa for a cedar tub soak and follow it with a siesta in the palapa day bed. These areas provide ample choices to fit your mood. Seclusion and privacy are basic amenities.

The beach is a 5 minute walk and the historic downtown Enicinitas is a quick walk. Hit the street fairs or surf at one of the local spots. Legoland, Del Mar Track, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Cedros Design district, and Del mar are all close by and just the tip of available activities in San Diego.

Relaxing in the cool breezes under the palapa

VRBO Bear stayed here - 05/06/2008 The Plantation Cottage is a tropical oasis. The Encinitas, California, vacation property is surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. You will feel as if you have escaped to Hawaii or a Fijian resort.

The interior of the cottage is luxurious with every modern convenience. The vaulted ceilings and wood beams create a large feel to this one-bedroom, one-bath cottage. The many windows and skylights also enhance the bright open feeling at this vacation rental. Entertainment and electronics are not lacking in any way with four plasma TVs and an integrated sound system. This cottage also provides the perfect place for business travelers with wireless internet, a fax machine, and copier all provided.

You can also enjoy a fire place and lounge in the front of the property, or a fire pit and additional seating area in the back. Perfect for enjoying good conversation and yummy food in the outdoors. The authentic cedar spa and jets made for wonderful evenings of relaxation, and we thoroughly enjoyed the flat screen TV and mood music provided in the outside hutch.

Let me tell you about the local scene in downtown Encinitas. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast at the 101 Diner on their outdoor patio, and downtown is filled with fun shops, boutiques, surf shops, cafés, and many unique restaurants. Fun at the beach was only a few minutes away.

The owner was very helpful and offered suggestions for local dining. His friendly black lab also made us feel welcome and right at home. The Plantation Cottage is an amazing get away. You will have to come and see for yourself. The tropical, lush landscaping, cedar barrel spa, palapa, and cool breezes are waiting for you!
