This is a very special house and property. It had everything I could possibly be looking for and the pictures on the site tell the whole story. Great hot tub, your own lake and a beautiful house. The property never ends and you feel like you are the only person on earth there (except for the TV and internet). Yet it is a quick hop to Stockbridge, Lee and Lenox. Great food in those towns. I will definitely be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I went here to paint landscapes in the Berkshires. This was such an ideal place of beauty, quiet, privacy and comfort. The furnishings were perfect, the woods around were fabulous to hike in, and the amenities were way more than I expected. After doing several rentals in the past, this house and location exceeded any others I have done. The owners are great to deal with, and provide every comfort and make the entire process welcoming. Hard to imagine any one would be disappointed.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have been vacationing in the Berkshires for many years and no place has ever been so special. The house is situated on a magnificent pond that provides a beautiful landscape to enjoy with all senses. The swimming, boating, bird watching and catch/release fishing are all right out the door. The property is perfect for a hike and exploration with kids and there are many hiking places for all abilities within a short drive. The bicycle riding starting from the property through the majestic Berkshire hills is absolutely gorgeous especially in the fall. There are close by locations for mountain biking, golf and horseback riding. The Berkshires are filled with lakes for more serious kayaking and canoeing. Close to the house is Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, The Berkshire Theater, Shakespeare and Company, MASS MoCA, Barrington Stage, The Mount, Norman Rockwell Museum. Williamstown is about an hour and makes for a very easy day trip. The amenities in the house make you feel as if you are home without having to bring along those comforts. There is satellite radio, wifi, gas grill, a bookshelf filled with books, toys and games for kids and the whole family, a fire pit for s'mores and more. The kitchen provides all the equipment (pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc) you'll need to eat in and there are local supermarkets and farmers markets close by. If you want to eat out you are a short drive to Lee, Lenox, Stockbridge, Great Barrington and Pittsfield. All of which are ideal for Berkshire shopping. There is plenty of well organized information on where to go and what to do in the Berkshires and an easy to read manual for house operations is also very well organized. We have rented this house for 6 years and will continue to go back every years for as long as possible.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I had been impressed by the pictures and description of this property, but I wasn't prepared for how great the house truly was. After driving down a very long driveway through the woods, I was greeted by a sprawling lake and a beautiful home. The house is large, with a very large living room and separate TV room off the main living room - we have some family in the area and we were easily able to entertain an extra 15 people on top of the six already staying there. The first morning I was there, I jumped right into the beautifully maintained aerated lake and went for a wonderful swim (albeit slightly chilly in late May). I followed that up with a quick jump in the hot tub - not a bad way to start the day. What really stood out to me was the incredible attention to detail. You will find a binder at the house with directions and information on more than a dozen topics - ranging from operation of the hot-tub, to how to use the home's thermostat and even dozens of local menus. There is satellite TV (not that I watched much), satellite radio (with an outdoor speaker), fireplace and (outdoor) fire-pit, and fantastic BBQ grill. The owner obviously cares a lot about the house and it shows. It is also great location, being very close to both Lee and Stockbridge. I think you would be hard pressed to find such a secluded, amazing home with such great access to local areas and amazing extras. I hope to go back in the future- I have been missing the incredible view of the lake from that living room...Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We spent a wondrous week in the house during the first week of June 2010. What a spacious and lovely home! Everything was clean and beautiful. The kitchen equipment was well stocked and beds were very comfortable. The view from the great room is so peaceful and gorgeous! We sat on the very comfortable couch by ourselves to enjoy the peace in the first light of morning and one afternoon invited everyone in our family reunion (around 20 of us) to have a skit event. Everyone was in awe of the beautiful lake. We enjoyed watching the various wildlife in and flying above the lake. Our hosts were very accommodating before we arrived and during our visit. There is a wealth of information available in the house for area entertainment and restaurants. We would definitely return if we're ever staying in the area again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Our stay was wonderful at this heavenly spot. We were swimming or relaxing by the water all day. Every evening we bar-b-qued then lounged in the hot tub under the stars. Being so close to Tanglewood but so private made it one of the best vacations we have ever taken.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

We have just returned from spending a week at David Iselin's beautiful lake front home. The setting was idyllic and the house and surrounding deck with hot tub superb. Everything we could possibly need for a perfect vacation was there. The house was immaculate, beautifully furnished and any question we might have had was answered in the information books provided by the owner. We were welcomed by Mr. Iselin himself who was there to answer any of our questions as we began our vacation and he presented us with a bottle of wine. While there we enjoyed hiking, swimming, biking and evenings at Tanglewood. We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a vacation to remember.Did you find this review helpful? My wife and I and our two children rented the house for the winter season and we absolutlely loved it! The house is wonderful and it is very comfortable for a family. The great room is spacious and nicely furnished. Even more wonderful than the house is the location. Since the house is at the end of a quarter-mile driveway which meanders through the woods, you will feel like you are away from it all yet you are only a few minutes from great restaurants, shopping, hiking and everything else the Berkshires has to offer. The hot tub on the lake is terrific. we would highly recommend the house.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+.

There is just nothing more perfect than coming back from a concert at Tanglewood on a late summer night, pouring a glass of wine, and slipping into a hottub underneath more stars than you can imagine. Unless, perhaps, it is waking up to a quiet and stillness not often found in modern day life, running down the dock and diving into your own private lake for a quick swim before settling into a kitchen any chef would be proud to use and whipping up something delicious for breakfast... Thanks to the owners of this beautiful home, these were our memories from last summer. Just a stone's throw from all of the Berkshires' best offerings, this nearly new home is breathtaking. It was immaculately clean, very well-maintained and well-appointed, and it offered exactly the kind of easy comfort we were looking for. The owners were thoughtful, generous, and very helpful both before and during our time at the house. In this respect, we absolutely couldn't have asked for anything more. During our two weeks there, friends and family came and went, stayed for a day or two or more, and everyone's conclusion was the same: This is the perfect place to unplug, to slow down, and to enjoy western Massachusetts. No one wanted to leave. I can wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone looking for something similar -- just prepare yourself for the heartbreak that comes as you drive down the long winding driveway for the last time, with your little slice of Berkshires bliss in the rearview mirror.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
