Our European Style B&B is slightly different than the normal condo/apartment rental. We furnish well stocked breakfast foods with our rental. We have for your convenience coffee,tea, chocolate, juice and milk along with fresh fruit, cereal and sweet breads, jams and condiments.
We are located in the heart of La Cruz, making our location ideal if you are interested in experiencing the full spirit of staying in a local pueblo while visiting Mexico. We are not a condo complex with shared outside living but a residential home with one individual rental unit. Once you walk through the front gate you are in your own totally private and secure home away from home. We are two blocks from a new world class Marina with a wonderful malecon(boardwalk) just perfect for your brisk morning walks or a leisurely evening stroll as the sun sets behind the hills of La Cruz. We are a block from the plaza, 3 blocks from a walking and swimming beach. Our location allows you easy walking distances to local and international restaurants, music bars and entertainment establishments, gift shops and public transportation. We have excellent fish markets, small grocery stores, liquor and beer depositos all just around a corner. Our famous "Jorge's Street Tacos" is located just up our street.
Both Quinta Dana Maria (apartment) and Clara's Studio are tastefully decorated in Mexican colors and folk art. All rooms have ceiling fans and extra fans if you need. We have many board games as well as Wii. We do have a selection of books for your reading pleasure. We furnish dish soap, bath soap, paper towels, paper napkins and toilet paper. We also have hair dryers in each bath.
The Apartment Dana Maria comes fully furnished with a nice sitting area that over looks the street side garden. It is aprox. 900 sq.ft with a living/dinning combination. The fully equipped kitchen overlooks the dinning/living area. The dining area has a table for 4 with a variety of table cloths and napkins for your use. The bath can be entered by way of the kitchen as well as the bedroom. The extra large shower and toilet are separate from the vanity by a door and stain glass. The bedroom has a queen size bed, lamps for reading and dresser.
Clara's Studio is entered through a double door from the apartments dining area. Here you will find a well appointed sitting area and a small bar/kitchen service center. There is a small fridge, coffee pot, and is equipped with the essentials for comfort. There is a large bedroom with king bed and an in suite bath with a large shower. This studio over looks the pool and garden through arched windows. There is a spiral stairway to an upper deck called a mirador. A great place for star gazing or sunning in private. There is a hammock that can be used on the mirador or the hooks in the sitting area of the studio, perfect for your afternoon siestas and a good book. There is another set of stairs that lead to the pool and garden when renting Clara's Studio.
We have maid service once a week, sheets and towels are changed out then. We also change out towels and beach towels mid week. We can arrange for extra maid service for a small fee if you let us know prior to your arrival.
It is important to note that we rent Clara's Studio only in conjunction with the rental of Quinta Dana Maria (the apartment).

Year Purchased: 1993
We are your host,Judy and Joe Dell'Aira. We have made our home in La Cruz for the past 18yrs. We live on the bottom floor of Casa Laura (the second floor being Quinta Dana Maria and Clara's Studio. We share our home with Miss Bay Girl, our 7 yr. yellow lab and two rescue cats, Kali Kat and Guido. Our place here in Mexico is very special to us and we are happy to share our upstairs with you. We golf, sail and fish so we are not home much of the time but we are happy to direct you in any way we can and to help you with information on car rentals, tours and entertainment. Just let us know.
Why the Owner Chose La Cruz de Huanacaxtle
We arrived in this fishing village when there was no phone service and water was an on and off again issue. We now have lots of water pressure, Wifi and a US phone. The progress has been faster than we anticipated but we continue to love our home, our wonderful Spanish speaking neighbors and our "Fishing Pueblo".

Staying in our property, we have the experience of being a part of a true Mexican way of life, the everyday routines of our little pueblo and the people who live here. We love buying fresh fruit from our local tiendas (grocery stores) and walking to the fish market for the catch of the day.
