My family stayed there this past summer and we were absolutely thrilled with the cabin. Very clean and well stocked. I drank my coffee every morning from the swinging bench in absolute awe over the scenery. The kids thrilled themselves with the tire swing. My son was fascinated at the possibility of getting close to the wild animals. The view from the hot tub was picture perfect. We really appreciated the no phone no TV aspect to our vacation. We spent a lot of time in town visiting all the attractions in Manitou and found the drive tolerable. It may seem long to some, but about the time your thinking you want out, you are there. Our favorite attraction was the caves. Even in summer, we got snowed on at the top of Pike's Peak. If you want white water rafting, the drive is definitely long, but with spectacular views of flower laden meadows backdropped with lakes. We looked forward to relaxing in the countryside after our long days playing tourist. For these Floridians, your Heavenly Hideaway was heavenly! Should we repeat our destination, we would stay again.

This was a perfect Holiday Vacation for family. This house was great! There were all necessary you would to make your stay comfortable and cozy. The only thin we brought was personal items and food which made for light packing. The hot tub was amazing and the view was priceless. This is far away from everything to relax, but close enough to things to make a trip to the store or pick up something that you happen to need with fast food and Walmart less than 30 minutes away. The only disadvantage was we couldnt get phone service which would be difficult in case of an emergency. Otherwise I plan to visit this beautiful place every season! I definately recommend this home to a family or couple of band of friends for a great time no matter the stay or season!
Owner response:We enjoy sharing our "Heavenly Hideaway" for others to relax, rest and recuperate. Since the location is a mountainous hideaway, several cell phone companies just don't have signal reaching the cabin. Verizon is the only one we know that has a consistant signal. In order to give some contact to the "outside world", we have installed high speed internet through a wireless router. Any phone calls that can be generated through a computer are welcome.

This property is exactly what it says!Gorgeous views.clean, and secluded, but close to everything Colorado Springs has to offer.Good restaurants(The Pantry in Green Mountain Falls) is just one to mention. We did'nt get to spend a whole lot of time outside enjoying the swings or the deck it was just too cold!!The hot tub was very clean also..Our only complaint was the lack of communication with the outside world,,there is no Television,no phone line nor did we get cell phone service(AT&T),anytime we needed to make a call we had to drive about 7 miles down the road to get a signal,so just be prepared...Derald and Kim were wonderful to work with!!!
Owner response:Heavenly Hideaway is just that: a place to regroup as couples or families without the invasion of excessive media. Repeatedly our guests write, "Thanks for not having TV. At first it was hard, but we got to know one another." For those who need to maintain some contact, we have installed secure wireless internet access by which phone calls may be placed through Skype or other simular apps. Verizon is the only cell company whose signal reaches the cabin. As of December, our hot tub has been upgraded to an Ahhnatural soaking experience without the common harsh, strong-smelling chemicals. Come and enjoy!!!

Our entire family stayed in this home for 6 nights and we loved it! The cabin was spotless! It has two bedrooms upstairs plus full bath and two bedrooms and a full bath downstairs. Perfect for a large family!!! The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, a large side-by-side refrigerator (with ice-maker), along with a large microwave and a great stove (with full size oven) was all available for our use. The washer and dryer was great to do our laundry with each night and the hot tub was wonderful and it was so clean! Everything was clean and spotless and each room was decorated very cute! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and to top it off....it had a deck on two sides and the view was absolutely beautiful!!!! We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone that was interested!!!! The picture above is exactly how it looks!!! It was great!

Future Renters Beware (1 of 3)

We are a fun-loving couple married for 26 years in our mid-40’s from the Atlanta area. We always try to find the best in every situation we experience. That’s what normally makes our vacations so good. We have rented through this website previously (including a property in Italy) with no issues. While we had a great time in Colorado, our rental experience left something to be desired. We always utilize the reviews on this site to make our decisions. In return, we write fair reviews to aid others in their future travel plans. We arrived in Denver on Saturday, September 18 and drove to the property. The drive is approximately 2 hours. We had indicated to the rental property owner that we may arrive early depending on traffic. He had asked us to call with an approximate arrival time when we knew. He had told us that early arrival was no problem as long as they were finished cleaning the property. When we contacted him to let him know we would not be arriving early, he immediately told us that the hot tub was not working. This was a great disappoint to us since the hot tub was the only reason we chose this property over many others in the area. Upon arriving about 5 minutes early (2:55 pm), we found the owners still cleaning the property. We’re not exactly sure how much longer they were there, but the property was not ready at 3:00 as promised. While we don’t want to waste your time reading about all the details of the hot tub drama, we must say that it was quite a disappointment. The owner had no instruction/operational manual as well as little working knowledge of the hot tub. Rather than following through with his promise to call a repairman, the owner came to the property several times to attempt to fix it himself. On the fifth evening of our stay, he finally was successful in getting the tub to heat. During this day, we had a conversation with him regarding a partial refund of our rental fee due to this issue. We thought a fair remedy to the situation would have been a refund of $25 per day (a total of $100). It turns out that he believed a $25 refund was a sufficient refund for the hot tub not working for 57% of our time at the property. We haven’t gone into all of the details of this issue, but it did include multiple interruptions to our vacation including having to drive into town to phone him since we had no cell phone reception at the property (T-Mobile). TO BE CONTINUED.

The Hideaway was a wonderful place to stay in the mountains. We felt in the "middle of nowhere", but were close enough to town not to miss a thing. The cabin was well stocked and clean. It was very easy to settle in and feel at home. Our family looked forward to coming home at the end of the day. The views were awesome. Truly appreciated that all was just as described in the listing.

We brought our bathing suits for the relaxing hot tub, our tennis shoes for exploring and swinging, yummy dinner to grill, and some rarely used but fun family board and dice games for sitting together on the deck as a family and bonding. No computers, no video games, no tvs for distractions! It was only one full day (early check-in), one night, and a leisurely check-out time, but it felt like such a longer time since we really relaxed and connected as a family before husband deploys again soon, one son went back to busy college life, and the other son started with all that coming high school hoopla. Simply perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your secret family bonding getaway! We'll be back!
