This two-bedroomed newly-built penthouse maisonette occupies the top two floors of a charming Edwardian terraced house, moments from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Circus. It has been with VRBO since 2003. The apartment was totally refurbished with a new floor and roof built onto where there was a once a butterfly roof.

One of our VRBO families loved the flat so much that they moved into it on a long lease all the way from Australia in 2016. - 2018. We did holiday lets again until the end of 2018 when it went back onto long lets. The apartment has been on a long let since then but is now available for holiday lets again.

When looking at the reviews, please note that only the ones from 2017 are for guests who have stayed since the massive refurb and rebuild.

This stunning super sunny maisonette flat is right in the heart of Fitzrovia yet super quiet due to new insulation and brand new double-glazed sash windows. 

This apartment was the subject of a 10-month refurbishment in 2016 and now features four large remote-controlled and rain-sensitive skylights, wall-mounted smart LG TVs in both bedrooms, bathroom underfloor heating in both bathrooms, and a wall-mounted 50-inch 4k Ultra Samsung HD TV in the living room.

It benefits from a brand U-shaped new cashmere gloss handleless kitchen with in-built Siemens fridge, Bosch freezer, Neff dishwasher, Siemens washer-dryer, Samsung induction hob and Bosch oven.  Complete with white quartz solid stone worktop and oversized stainless steel sink as well as carousel corner unit.

There is also a white extendable dining table, four chairs and a large sofa, armchair and pouffe to rest your feet on after a day's walking around the cobbled streets of London.

The two bedrooms feature one bed each, and in-built bespoke mirrored wardrobes with integrated automatic lighting, Anglepoise bedside lamps, oversized cushioned headboards, deep memory foam mattresses and 32-inch LG smart TVs. Like with hotels, you can switch the bedside lights as you enter each bedroom.

The property benefits from a brand new colour LCD video entry system (available on each floor) and a newly installed gas central heating system with each radiator indepdendently controlled if needed.

All the windows are brand new double-glazed secondary sash windows and have custom-fitted slate grey black out blinds for the ultimate sleep.

The velux roof windows now benefit from remote controlled black-out blinds (as of September 2023)

Both bathrooms are fully-height tiled with underfloor heating, Duravit fittings and touch sensitive LED lit bathroom cabinets (just gently wave your hand underneath the bottom right hand corner of each cabinet for the different light settings). The main bathroom has a heated towel rail. Both bathrooms have rain showers. 

The staircase features LED lighting at step level with adjustable colours to light up the steps as you walk up to the upper floor.

Please note there are 44 steps to the apartment's front door from the street level. The bedrooms are on the same floor as the bathrooms. The living area is on the top floor.

This penthouse maisonette is located in the very heart of Central London's quiet Fitzrovia district and so, within walking distance from Oxford Circus, Oxford Street, Regent Street, New Bond Street, Soho, Covent Garden, and London's Theatre District, as well as Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the British Museum, National and Tate Galleries, 10 Downing Street, Parliament Buildings, Big Ben, Royal Academy, and many other tourist attractions.

There's a wide choice of restaurants, bars, bustling cafés, bistros, pubs and shopping amenities 'on the doorstep.'

The two local underground (subway) stations, Oxford Circus and Great Portland Street are just five minute's walk away, providing quick and easy access to all other parts of London. The Great Portland Street stop is on the same underground line as Paddington where the Heathrow Express train terminates, enabling you to get to London's Heathrow Airport in half hour from Gosfield Street. Taxis are also plentiful within the area. You'll literally be able to wave one down around the corner, if need be at any time of day or night. You'll only be about 5 minutes away from an Uber car if you desire.

The West End is extremely vibrant, packed with colourful, breathtaking history and, as there's always plenty to see and do whatever the time of year, people flock to the area.

As well as being famous for a host of well-known tourist attractions, the neighbourhood is also surrounded by dozens of shops as you'd expect with it being right in the heart of Central London's West End.

The new BBC HQ is just one minute's walk away and you can often catch free performances and recordings right on its outdoor piazza or grab a coffee from the BBC Café Nero as you watch them set up for an outside broadcast/rehearsal.

Gosfield Street is conveniently located between the hustle and bustle of Oxford Circus and the tranquility of Regent's Park and is a quiet side street. The apartment was my first residence in Central London and I have plenty of happy heart-warming memories of living there for almost a decade which is why I preferred not to sell it but to keep it so that others could make their own memories.

Layout: My Gosfield Street apartment is on two levels with both bathrooms and bedrooms on the second level and living area and kitchen on the top vaulted-roof floor.

The master bedroom features a 30 cm deep memory foam UK king ottoman bed, high thread count sheets and double wardrobe with LED strip lighting

The other bedroom featuring a UK double bed and fitted wardrobe.

Oak flooring covers all the floors apart from the staircase and landing which are newly carpetted.

NB: Most of the reviews before 2016 are for the flat as it used to be - a 3 bed 1 bath flat. It has since been totally remodelled during all of 2016.

Fantastic Stay!
We had a wonderful stay the week between Christmas and New Year's with my family of 4. The flat was clean and well appointed with everything we needed. The location was great and a quick walk to many tube stations. Anita was very responsive before and during our stay and quick to answer any questions. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

Great location and amenities
Close to the busy Oxford Circus SOHO area, but on a quiet side street. Perfect for a short visit to see the major sites in London, or for a longer stay for family or business. The flat was recently renovated with lots of updated amenities (washer/dryer, dishwasher, automated skylights, bathrooms, fiber internet…). The building does not have an elevator. So you’ll get lots of exercise climbing the stairs! The owner, Anita, was very considerate and helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Comfortable and Convenient
We're so glad we stayed here during our trip to London. It's a great neighborhood, and lovely flat. The flat is about a ten minute walk to two different Tube lines which made using public transportation very easy. The flat itself was nice, clean, and comfortable. The owner was very attentive and checked in with me plenty before and during our stay. I felt like we were well taken care of! Thank you!

It's close to everything! Oxford Circus, Oxford Street, Regent's Park, Marylebone, everywhere. You are in the heart of Central London at this address yet it's very quiet!
