Recommend-no Emailed owner after visit regarding dirty dishes, tv, couch, bad lighting, no paper towels. Said she would check into it, never got an apology or refund of cleaning fee.

We've spoken to our cleaners, who are working with their staff to ensure that future renters can enjoy a cabin that meets our high standards.   This is a very nice cabin and probably worthy of 5 stars, but I have to mention one issue that created some problems for us. There is no mention of this cabin not having towels or linens except on the rental agreement and that created some unpleasant surprises for some of our other guests who were joining us for the weekend. I feel that this type of info is important enough to mention clearly up front so that guests don't arrive unprepared (or have to travel back to civilization to get these missing items). It worked out fine eventually, but put a bit of a damper on the start of our stay. It's also worth noting the there are about 8' of stairs to get in/out of the cabin which is not a problem unless you have 80+ year-old grandparents (or disabled individuals) joining you on your stay, as we did. Otherwise, this is a nicely kept, big and comfortable and ideally situated cabin with some great, fun amenities.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, adventure seekers.

  Owner response: We are so sorry that the linens and towels caused you difficulty. We try to make it clear in the documentation that we send our renters that sheets and towels are not provided. We have blankets, mattress pads and pillows, as well as dish towels. But renters do need to supply the rest of the bedding and their own bath towels (as well as beach towels in the summer). Thank you so much for this feedback - we will try to do a better job of communicating this information in the future. In the meantime, we are pleased that you had a great time anyway, and hope that you will come back to the Dean Way Chalet! We will be happy to offer you a discount on a future visit.   What a fantastic time we had at the Dean Way Chalet! Highlights included: • the spacious kitchen / eating area / fireplace / entertainment room combo • ample sleeping rooms / beds • large den downstairs where the two teenage boys could play video games late into the night without disturbing any of us • the ping pong table room • washer / dryer • the ability to saucer down the hill to the right of the driveway • stylish decorating, including the ski lift chair out front • proximity to Arnold and Bear Valley We can't wait for the next time we’re fortunate enough to head back up!

• Great place to stay!

  What a great place to gather with friends and family! The house was perfect for our couples get together. It is both well equipped and well maintained. There were so many things for us to do, all close to this beautiful setting. We could imagine a stay here with all our grand kids, who would also find much to entertain them and plenty of space. We are definitely planning a return visit!

  The owners were extremely nice and helpful. The chalet was wonderful, everything we expected and more! Lots of space for two families and plenty of room for the kids to play!

  Having never rented a cabin before I wasn't sure what to expect. Then we arrived and the moment we walked up the stairs we felt relaxed. We had 8 Adults 2 teen boys, and 1 toddler in our party and everyone fit comfortably. The ping pong table was a huge hit and the down stairs living room space worked great for a play area for the toddler. There was enough beds for everyone, and after a day of sledding in bear valley the fire place hit the spot! Wifi is provided but I kinda loved my phone not working so I stayed off of it and enjoyed the disconnect. We all loved it and plan on renting the Cabin again in the Summer if not sooner!

  Our family LOVES this home! We have stayed in summer and winter with our 4 kids. Kid friendly, comfortable, spacious. Easy access to lots of outdoor activities - skiing, swimming, hiking, caverns, and more. Love the ping pong table. Everything clean and well maintained and owner was very helpful before and during our stay in answering questions. Highly recommend this cabin!

  We had a great time playing in the snow and skiing at nearby Bear Valley. The chalet was great for kids with ping pong and TV/Video downstairs. The living area was spacious and comfortable. Two families fit great with room to spare. When there is snow sledding is right outside the back door..
