San Diego paradise

My family of four which includes two teens loved Casa Geraldine! The backyard garden was my favorite with the jasmine in full bloom and oh so fragrant. Plenty of room for our family to spread out so our teens could have their own much needed space. WiFi a wonderful amenity as well as the washer/dryer and more than adequate kitchen. Walking distance to Mystic Mocha for great coffee and super easy access to area beaches and attractions. Briefly met the owner Sue was was a delight to talk with. The pictures are accurate, but they don't completely capture the magic of this hacienda. LOVED our time here and hope to come back for an extended time!!

Owner response:Thank you Pam, . It was such a pleasure to meet you and your family and we do hope you will come back again soon. So glad you enjoyed the house and garden. The jasmine has been better this year than ever, so you came at the right time. We hope you had a safe journey home and look forward to seeing you again soon, Best regards, Mick and Sue

An awesome place in a great location.

We stayed here the first week in April. Two middle aged couples on a spring break vacation. The house was wonderful as decribed, full of character. Updated kitchen and great back patio. It is a very private backyard. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Made use of the WiFI and Laundry. Plenty of room for us. The neighborhood was clean and safe. We took plenty of morning walks for coffee. LocaI resturants and bars within 5 blks on Park Blvd are fun, clean and safe. It's an ideal central location, 10-15 mins from beaches and 10 mins from the zoo. The beaches can be breezy and cloudy, it was nice to stay a little inland where it can be warmer. We have been to San Deigo many times and we would come back here again. The reservation and payment was a snap.

A Lovely Rental in a Great location

We rented this home for several days in early January. The location couldn't have been better! We were close to a number of tourist attractions, as well as within five miles of three Diners, Drive-ins and Dives locations. The patio was gorgeous with an orange tree loaded with ripe oranges; the kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. There was also a ton of literature on things to do in the local area. We hope to go back!

A slice of Heaven in charming University Heights, San Diego, CA

Casa De Geraldina was just a nice if not better then pictured. The location was excellent and provided a charming place to spend my time away from the fray of the usual hotel areas of large cities while still being close to everything. Parking of my rental car was always a breeze and I was within walking distance to many great eateries, cafes, pubs, and shops. The house was lovely and well renovated and maintained. The two bedrooms, bathrooms, awesome kitchen, den and living areas were just great for spreading out and not feeling cramped and no more expensive then a city hotel plus parking. It was great to have the back yard, which was beautiful and private as well as a washer/dryer for a quick load of laundry. Being able to do laundry cut down on overpacking and the kitchen and BBQ grill were great for cooking in after a busy day of sightseeing. I will definitely tell friends and family of this great find and hope to make it back myself sometime soon. This was an awesome rental and the owners (Mick & Sue) were a sincere pleasure to work with. If you're going to San Diego you should consider this in lieu of the "usual" cramped hotel room to spread out and make the most of your vacation!

Great Stay!

Guest: Rachel (Phoenix)
Date of Stay: 07/03/10 Review Submitted: 08/04/10

My family and I stayed here for 2 weeks in July. The house is so adorable. Great location. Super close to tons of restaurants in Hillcrest and a walk across the street to Mystic Mocha for coffee and/or breakfast...delish! We loved spending evenings out back hanging out. Walked to the park down the street for Friday evening concerts. 15 minute drive to beaches in Coronado. A/c in the house was great. Plenty of room for our family of 5.

Owner response:Hello Rachel, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and do hope you will be back again soon. Mick and Sue

My family and I stayed here in February 10 when my son graduated from the Marines. I was so pleased with the not only the property itself, but also with the level of service I received from the owner. She was in touch throughout the stay and offered excellent service and advice. The property is lovely and very comfortable. It has great access to the freeway and all of the sites the city has to offer, but a nice distance away so you're able to relax! Overall, an ideal location. I would definitely recommend this property to my family and friends!

This house is provided with everything you need for a nice stay in San Diego (including washing maschine). We all felt very comfortable, it is quiet and not far from any of the sights in San Diego! We really spent 3 great days at Casa Geraldina.

California Dreaming

We rented this home for three nights and it was perfect for the three of us. We had a wonderful experience. The home is as nice as it looks in the pictures and the owners were easy to work with. Was very easy to locate. The location was just a few minutes from Balboa Park and had many restaurants and grocery stores nearby. On Sundays there is a farmer's market right down the street. Since my husband likes to cook, the kitchen was great, also saved us alot of money by not eating out. All new appliances, all the dishes and cooking utensils you need. The beds are comfortable and the home is clean and well kept. It had plenty of room for myself, husband and 11 year old son. A much better situation that shoving us all in a small hotel room that cost alot more than the house per night. Could easily sleep six people. The backyard is a great place to relax listenting to the fountain and enjoying a nice glass of wine or a cold beer. Had I known how easy it was to get to my conference from this location and how much we would enjoy our stay, we would have rented the house for our entire six night visit to San Diego. We will definitely stay here again if we have another opportunity to visit San Diego. Due to the stairs, I would not recommend this home for those people who have difficulty climbing stairs.
