"Three blissful months were mine at this enchanting property this summer. I had spent two weeks here last year in July and found it to be perfect for me in every way, and I longed to return for a truly lengthy stay this year. I have a detailed review below from last July which should be read; this year's review will be shorter because although there is a 'knock-out' new kitchen and much improved stairwell to the roof garden, all the things I've loved about Los Pirules remain the same.
The new kitchen is amazing, all new high-end appliances and gorgeous new stone floors, counters and walls. The entire area has now lightened up considerably, and the copper 'objet d'art' above the stove is most engaging. The new stairwell--just off the kitchen--makes it much easier to reach the laundry and roof garden.
One of my favorite things was 'hanging out' with Beatriz, the housekeeper. She and Miguel are so kind, and have looked after me so well that at the end of three months I could not bear to leave....
Yoko, the property manager, was at the house when I arrived and quickly installed the vonage phone I'd
brought along with me. She was always in reach and very very helpful during my stay.
As I said in my previous review: ¡¡Mejor No Hay!!"

"Stan and Joanna have put so much love and care into Casa del Alma—it shows in all the details. Not just the amazing art and decor, but the thoughtful household supplies and extras that are too numerous to count! From the gorgeous, totally equipped kitchen with filtered water, to spare Post-It notes and paper clips, this magical house of color lacks nothing. I think we took as many pictures of the house as we did other sites in San Miguel, it's that beautiful. Don't miss the little El Rinconcito restaurant on Calle Refugio, walking distance from the house. Simple, absolutely delicious food. We walked everywhere: in and out of narrow streets to El Centro, the Mercado de Artesanias, Via Organica natural foods/restaurant, and dozens of art galleries. Take a short cab ride to the big Tuesday market (Tianguis del Martes). It's a magical city, and Casa del Alma is a magical place to stay. Stan and Joanna have raised the bar for vacation rentals; I’m not sure any place else will come close."

"This beautiful house was everything we had hoped for and more. We were celebrating my 80th birthday with my daughters my godson and his wife. The house was so comfortable and gave each of us all of the privacy and comfort anyone could ever ask for. The house is decorated perfectly, each of the patios and decks is more gorgeous than the other, and we really will plan on coming back. Thanks to everyone who made this celebration so perfect. "We were here for 6 days. It was a delightful place to stay, flowers to greet us and many other things. The essentials for the kitchen, including a full bag of coffee were there for our use. They had the very important antibacterial drops for washing produce. Even US cable to catch up on news from home!! It was clean, sunny, quiet, great location. Lovely patio in the courtyard. No complaints from us. We felt lucky to find Casa Tranquila."
