Disappointing
Nice cottage in a good location but in need of some modenisation and improvement.
The property description lists "two off-road parking spaces" but these do not exist so it was quite a trek with all the bags on arrival and departure.
The radiator in the lounge did not work so the only source of heat was the log fire. This needed regular attention and worked out quite costly over the 5 day stay. We reported the fault to the property services company by text shortly after arrival and tried calling the next day, but did not get a response until late on Christmas eve by which time it was too late for them to arrange its repair. We left the property a day early and have still not received a follow up call.
The windows in the property are badly in need of replacement and some can't be opened.
The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils but a number of these needed washing before use.
The property information at the cottage is severely lacking in detail. The washing machine is housed in the garden but we only found this by accident. There is no information on how or when to leave rubbish out for collection which meant that all three bins were full or nearly full on arrival.
The bed mattresses were very uncomfortable in all three bedrooms.
Overall, a very disappointing stay, particularly for a Christmas break.
