Tropical Lakeside Villa, Hikkaduwa

Offering peace and tranquility - Whitehouse Villa sits on the edge of Bird Lake, less than 10 minutes drive inland from the town and beaches of Hikkaduwa on the south west coast of Sri Lanka.

With a modern open plan interior inviting cooling winds from the lake, the villa has 3 spacious bedrooms, all with bathrooms attached, air conditioning, fan & bed nets. The lounge and dining areas open onto the garden verandah, overlooking the terraced gardens and private pool with views across the lake. A fully equipped kitchen leads onto the breakfast patio. The top roof terrace provides more space for relaxing Sunbeds and towels are provided for guests.

A full time housekeeper (in separate accommodation to the front of the villa) takes care of cleaning and organising transport, trips and any other requirements.
Many species of birds can be seen in the gardens and in an around the lake. Trips in traditional fishing boats can be orgniased as well as kayak hire from a nearby hotel.
Locally bicycles, scooters and motorbikes are available to rent daily or weekly, otherwise 3-wheeler taxis (tuktuks) or vans can easily be arranged for transport.

Bird Lake is situated just a few kilometres from Hikkaudwa - with fish and vegetable markets, banks, hotels and restaurants. There are many activities on offer: diving, surfing, snorkelling, swimming and kitesurfing.

Our amazing housekeeper Ranjith will take away all those chores and ensure your time is yours to do as you please. He will keep the villa, garden & pool clean & tidy, make arrangements on your behalf, sort out any requests, all the while maintaining a discreet presence. If you want less time in the kitchen, you can opt for chef services at a daily rate. He will shop and cook for you and your group conjuring up tasty traditional sri lankan curries, evening fish barbecues or whatever you desire.
