The cottage was as described in the listing which meant no unpleasant surprises. If anything it undersold itself with all that we needed for a great week. The kitchen was well equipped and the basics of oil, salt etc were available. It was clean and very well presented (as per the photos).
Really excellent location & all facilities/needs catered for. Very friendly village & short stroll to shops. Lots of accessible walks & lovely countryside.

A delightful and comfortable place to stay, with everything one needs. The cottage was close to the village and shops, close to the train station, and with cafe and pub serving good food nearby. It was somewhere we will try to return to in the future.

Fabulous 5 night stay in this lovely cottage. So well equipped and with the most beautiful summerhouse in the garden. Perfect for dog owners as great walking in the field just out the garden gate!
We had a great week long stay. East Linton in an amazing small town for a great family getaway. It is also a great spot to travel to Stirling Castle, St. Andrews and beaches.
The view from the cottage is amazing. We really enjoyed drinks in the she shed that overlooked a rolling pasture of farm land.
We will most definitely come back!

Quaint Cottage
A quaint small cosy cottage with a great garden room with views to open countryside to the rear. The host was very generous having left a welcome pack of essential groceries, wine and a beautiful welcome note. However, the property is in need of some urgent refurbishment, particularly the kitchen area and shower.

I’m sorry you were disappointed with the cottage. I’d be interested to hear specifically what you think needs urgent refurbishment in the kitchen and bathroom as you are the only guest to have mentioned this though I appreciate these things are subjective. It would’ve been appreciated if you had contacted me about any dissatisfaction during your month long stay. Stephanie
The booking and organisational aspects were very smooth with friendly personal messages from the owner prior to the holiday. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable with a pretty back garden. My boys particularly liked the garden room which they commandeered as their secret clubhouse! There is so much to do nearby - beautiful beaches, walks from the door, castles and adventure activities, all within 15 minutes.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lynn Cottage, cottage was so comfortable and had everything you needed. The town itself is very quaint and it was great we could take our dogs into the local for a drink. Everything was lovely and clean and bedding was great quality. It was really beneficial to have the enclose back garden and easy access into the field behind the cottage. The heating was set to come on and created a real warm atmosphere. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a relaxing break in a lovely home from home cottage.

I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay and your time in East Linton.
This is a picturesque cottage, surrounded by flowers with beautiful views and sun house at the back and lovely rooms inside. With parking outside and in a lovely village with pubs, a co op shop and restaurants (I would recommend the Linton hotel and steakhouse restaurant). We came to watch the Scottish open golf, just 20 mins away. Gulane close by is a nice market town. Stephanie the host was excellent. Altogether a great stay

Perfect location to visit beautiful beaches and do the many lovely walks in East Lothian. Cottage was very homely with an stunning view over fields from the back of the cottage. It was well equipped and located close enough to walk to the local shop and pub. Host Stephanie was very good to communicate with and provided a wealth of information re cottage, eating, beaches, walks, public transport and leaflets for all appliances in a folder. Would definately recommend a stay in here and a big thank you to Stephanie for hosting us!

Lovely homely accommodation situated in a convenient location for exploring East Lothian. Comfy cottage, great enclosed garden for dog, farmland views from garden. Coop just five minutes walk from house. Train from Dunbar (15 minutes drive from house) gets you into Edinburgh within 30 mins. My only criticism would be the width of the entrance to the driveway, very tight to drive car in.
Overall a very enjoyable and comfy place to stay.

I’m pleased you had a good stay. I appreciate your comment about the driveway. As cars have got so much bigger, it can be a bit tight though with the original stone wall. Thankfully, the er Eid plenty free parking on the road outside.
A lovely comfortable cottage, a home from home with everything you need in the cottage and in the village a two minute walk away. This cottage provides a place either to relax, or to explore the surrounding area (including an excellent bus service to Edinburgh) and even the teenagers enjoyed the week we stayed. The cottage, on one floor, is spacious with a superb garden including summerhouse at the bottom overlooking the fields to spend quiet evenings in.
Thank you for Stephanie for letting us stay in this wonderful cottage.

Beautiful cottage, very homely with everything you need for a perfect break.
Very comfortable beds with quality linens. The property was very clean on our arrival and a great standard. The kitchen is well equipped if you are cooking at home.
The garden is ideal for dogs and very secure with a walk from the rear gate into the village or to the local garden centre with has a great cafe.
The property is in a perfect location for exploring the local area with lots to see and do
The summer house is a great addition and we loved sitting out with a glass of wine out chilling after a day of exploration.
Great communication with Stephanie the owner
Highly recommend
Will be back
Property was as advertised. Very comfortable. Warm when required. Everything we would hope for with regard to essentials and utilities were provided and more.
Weather wasn't the best but when the sun did shine the garden and garden room (which was so lovely) were put to good use. East Linton itself was a lovely village, everyone really friendly and good amenities. Lots of nice walks for us and the dog, and just a 40 minute drive to Edinburgh or less to a multitude of coastal sights.

Very good location for a relaxing time and plenty walks locally. Lovely old village, with great little book shop; interesting double decker bus Chinese take away/ restaurant. Great garden nursery and tea room nearby. Lots to do further afield at North Berwick and Castles.. Close to Edinburgh if you like to go into the city
The sun room is a lovely space to relax .. take a book and snuggle in with a wee glass of wine!
The cottage is very well equipped.
Very comfy beds.. pillows were super!
.. and also made a rhubarb crumble with the beautiful red rhubarb from the garden!
Would really have liked to spend a few more days there!
Only negative thing which is being picky.. TV difficult to navigate and no DVD player

Thanks for the review. As I explained we no longer have a DVD as we now have a BT box with streaming applications. Apologies for not updating the information book on this. We were unaware that the TV setting had been altered (we presume by previous guests) and have retuned it now so that all is working. Had you let us know during your stay we could have talked you through it or arranged for out maintenance man to attend.
Wundreschöne Gegend mit vielen Ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Kleine Hafenstädte in der Nähe. Edinbourgh nicht weit.

We stayed for 4 days in this lovely little cottage to visit family close by. Stephanie was quick to reply to any questions and the cottage was warm and cozy. It was well equipped and was perfect for a short stay. Imagine e it would be super in the summer when we could appreciate the garden and summer house! Great location, easy parking.
Had a lovely week at this lovely cottage in beautiful East Linton. We are local and this was an ideal stop gap while our nearby home was getting renovated. And also worked well for my ‘working from home’ set up too! Stephanie super helpful. Recommend!
