Very reasonable priced, close proximity to the lake, peaceful, accomodations for perfect for our needs, we did our own meals and we were supplied with all the essential cooking items.
We really enjoyed the stay and will be coming back in the future.
Stressful - no cellphone service, bad weather, a long 4 months.
I think the fact that cell phones don't work, it is a fact that should be stated in the add. We had good cell phones but it was a dead zone. We are in our 80's and it was very stressful for the weeks we could not get a land line installed. The mailbox had to be moved twice. The first time it was up by the house and it was moved to the wrong side of the road so it had to be moved again. Cheryl did her best to appease us and for that we were thankful. It was obvious no one had stayed that long before.
Unfortunately for Marion and her husband, they we're guests at our Cottage at the coldest months of the year beginning in December and the coldest months we've experienced in Guntersville in several years. Neither my guests, some of who had stayed for months, or I had a problem with cell phone service in the past. However, I had a landline installed specifically for the VanDrese's use as well as purchase them another cell phone. I also went out of my way to acquire handicap items in order for their stay to be more comfortable. After several visits with them in order to make things comfortable, I was assured that they were taken care of and happy. I am thoroughly disappointed for them if things weren't as they would have liked.
Very nice cottage!
Cottage is in a nice, quiet location and not too far from the nearest boat ramp. Owner has a very well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal. Living room is a nice comfortable size with plenty of room and the main bedroom that we used (it was just my husband and I), has a very comfortable bed. WiFi worked great as well as the cable TV. Overall a very pleasant stay and I expect that we will stay here again on any future fishing trips to Guntersville Lake. ☺️
Very clean, fully equipped
Clean and close to everything!
Our family hasn't ever been to this area before and this cottage is reasonably priced and close to everything.
It is an older home, which is obvious when you walk in. However, it has been nicely redone and was clean when we were there. Even though it's a 2 bed/1 bath, there is plenty of room. The kitchen is large with a lot of counter space. There are 5 of us and we had plenty of room to spread out in the living room. The bathroom and bedrooms are not huge, but were plenty big enough for the 5 of us.
The house is in a quiet area, even on 4th of July weekend, I didn't see a single car pass by the house.
There's a lot to do in this area. There is a marina about 5 minutes away. Lake Guntersville is beautiful (and huge!). The space center at Huntsville is close. There's a drive in at Boaz ($15 per car for two movies). We also visited the Unclaimed Baggage Center in Scottsboro. We didn't make it to Cathedral Caverns, but we drove past it and it is close by as well.
I would stay here again!
Four stars because the kitchen could really use a nonstick frying pan or two!
Thank you, nonstick pans on the way.
