If you can tear yourself away, Discover Porth Island, reached by a narrow footbridge revealing a wonderful natural blowhole, alongside ancient Bronze and Iron age fortifications. From here walk to the magnificent Watergate Bay, two miles of sandy beach, dog friendly, vast and ideal for many types of surfing. Venture further afield from this Cornish gem and the buzzing town of Newquay is just 5 minutes by car. Here there are many beaches; a paradise for families and water-sports enthusiasts alike, with bars, restaurants and many shops and amenities, a zoo and underworld aquarium. The iconic fishing port of Padstow is a must visit, with its narrow streets and busy quayside, fabulous award-winning restaurants, galleries and boutique shops.

For walking there are countless choices, including The South-West Coast Path, taking in stunning scenery and breath-taking coastal vistas, or from Padstow hire a bicycle and follow the Camel Trail, 18 miles of stunning scenery all the way to Bodmin, with its nearby atmospheric moor and mystical stone formations.
