Sosgill Lodge

Sosgill Lodge was new in 2012 and sleeps up to four guests in light, warm & spacious comfort with exceptional mountain views of Blencathra , High Rigg & Skiddaw. Spacious lounge & kitchen / diner. There is an en-sui king bedroom, a second twin bedroom with a separate bathroom. Bio mass central heating keep the lodge warm and snug whatever the weather.
All bedding, electric, heating, broadband (light use only ) & towels included.
Inside you have a 42" free view tv separate radio. Coal effect electric stove in lounge. Kitchen with integrated dishwasher, tall fridge freezer, electric double oven & gas hob & microwave. The en-suit has a walk in shower & the bathroom a shower over the full sized bath. A mobile phone signal is available in the lodge as is a basic wireless broadband connection.
From the front and side take in views of fields often with sheep & lambs or cows.
The site is level with parking beside the lodge for two cars. Four steps to entrance. Decking to front and side with outside seating and table. Star gazing possible.
Walks, easy or difficult, start from your door. We are ideally located for touring most of the Lake District being 4 miles South from Keswick, 18 from Penrith & M6, 13 from Ambleside & 25 to Windermere. As on site owners we will have your property ready and can help with any questions you may have.

Amazing location, the lodge was very welcoming and homely, greeted by the host on arrival lovely lady. It was nice to have milk ...etc and shortbreads waiting in our lodge and nicely heated on arrival. Beautiful breath taking 360 views. Just an amazing to rest, relax and reset. Will definitley book again

Another fabulous stay

Our 5th stay at Sosgill which was fabulous as always. Views, peace and quiet are wonderful as is the lodge.

Another fabulous stay

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Bram Cragg in Sosgill Lodge and it never disappoints. The location and accommodation are first class with everything you need for a home from home stay. The peace, quiet and views are wonderful although you have everything on your doorstep for a day out.

Wow! What a find. From the lodge itself to the location, views, facilities and clear skies, dark enough to capture images of The Milky Way - just amazing. Would highly recommend this property, spotlessly clean with the most delicious homemade carrot cake waiting for us on arrival. Facilities are fantastic, everything you could possibly need for a home from home stay was provided. Great areas to explore within short drives/walks. Gillian was so friendly and we even managed to see inside The Barn, a bigger property perfect for us to return with more family members. Hope to return soon to enjoy this idyllic area.

Highly recommend Bram Cragg accomodation..our lodge was fabulous...cosy and warm ,very well equipped , Covid secure, beautiful all round views.Wish we could live there !There are walks nearby and good roads to reach Keswick Grasmere etc . Would like to thank Gillian and Stuart for our chance to stay in their special place .We hope to return one day.

Fantastic location!

What a lovely place to stay! We loved it! Peace and quiet with the cows right outside our window couldn't have picked a better place! We had a visit (we think was Fly) lovely dog! We missed our Olly (Springer Spaniel ) on his holiday in kennels. Thanks for the yummy cake! We don't normally return to the same place on our trips but we would here! Very comfortable lodge, home from home, very cosy and warm. Excellent!

Perfect place

The lodge is in a great location and exactly as described. It’s clean and modern and perfect for exploring the Northern Lake District, especially if you’re in and out at dawn and dusk where that can be awkward in hotels or B&Bs. The views are superb and it’s a relaxing place to stay with the sights and sounds of the countryside in all directions. The WiFi is ok for light web browsing and Twitter/Facebook etc, probably best to bring a book and not hammer it though. Gill was very welcoming and helpful and her dogs were friendly too. This is definitely the nicest place I’ve stayed in the Lake District and I intend to come back.

Fantastisch huis op een fantastische plek, met een fantastisch uitzicht. Veel mogelijkheden om te wandelen, al dan niet uitdagend. Keswick is dichtbij en daar zijn alle boodschappen die je nodig hebt makkelijk te halen. Het huis is ruim, heeft een mooi terras, een paar fijne banken om op te luieren, goede bedden en twee mooie badkamers waarvan één met een bad en één met een douche. De wasmachine is echt een plus. De keuken bevat alles wat je nodig hebt en is ruim, zodat je makkelijk eten kunt klaarmaken. De wifi is wat minder goed, maar dat staat ook in de advertentie en wij vonden dat geen probleem. Wij kunnen deze lodge alleen naar aanraden en zouden hier graag nog eens verblijven.
