On the entrance floor of this typically Madeiran house, you will find an open-plan living and dining room, access to the kitchen and a suite with double bed, private bathroom with shower and a single sofa bed. The access to the upper floor is made through a spiral staircase. On this level there is an office area, a bathroom with shower, and a bedroom with two single beds, which gives access to a nice balcony. The architecture of the house and the stone walls are typical of the area where it is located, which makes the rural experience even more authentic. The quiet atmosphere where this property is inserted, allows you to hear and enjoy the chirping of the birds, in a private grass garden. The outdoor dining area also connects to the cultivated area where you can find fruit trees accessible to guests, vines, lemon, anone, and tangerine trees, as well as yams, spinach, and other varieties of plants and flowers. A perfect place for those who wish to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Ideal for relaxing with family and very close to Levada dos Canhas, for those who enjoy hiking and being in touch with nature.

AREA This property is located in Canhas, Ponta do Sol, in a very quiet area. This house is close to Levada dos Canhas and a few minutes away from Madalena do Mar, a town well known for paragliding and where you can find a beach, bars and restaurants with fresh fish. Very close to this property you will find mini markets and some bars. Canhas is about 30 minutes drive from the center of Funchal. If you choose to go to the Funchal centre, take the opportunity to explore the city and find out more information about all sorts of activities you can do during your holiday: cultural activities, radical activities, nature related activities... whatever the purpose of your visit to Madeira Island!
GETTING AROUND The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport. If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS - According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card). - Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team. - All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
RULES We want you to feel at home. We do not ask for more than respect for neighbours and care for the property, in addition to not smoking inside the house.
ATTENTION -Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Ponta do Sol. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax. -No pets allowed. Please don’t feed wild or domestic animals. -No parties allowed.

Feels like home
Big estate in a quiet village with a beautiful view over the ocean. The house is filled with everything you need. Especcially the comfortable hammock was in daily use. At the middle of the stay we got new towels and a quick cleaning of the house. The contact to the team was very easy and without of any complications

Stylish house with all amenities
The check-in was unproblematic and very friendly. The house is very quiet. A small supermarket and a bar are nearby. The kitchen and house are well equipped. Everything you need is there. This accommodation is ideal as a starting point for beautiful hikes in the west of the island.

Unfortunately there was a humidity problem which caused mould and made running a machine to draw the humidity out necessary that was a bit loud in the night

Très mauvaise expérience
Logement pas du tout à 6 min de la plage de ponta do sol comme indiqué sur Abritel.C’est Très difficile d’accès, les pentes sont tellement raides (15/20%) qu’il vaut mieux éviter les véhicules peu puissantsEnsuite la manœuvre pour rentrer votre véhicule dans l’allée au milieu du pente très raide avec une bosse est délicate et ensuite il faut rentrer le véhicule dans la propriété et c’est une tannée vu l’étroitesse des rues et que le voisin refuse de baisser sa chaîne en face du portail qui faciliterait la manœuvre).La maison n’est Pas très fourni en ustensilesLa hotte et le tiroir de la cuisine sont cassés et n’ont pas été réparés pendant notre séjourLes gérants, an island apart, n’ont absolument rien fait et ont en outre refusé de nous dédommager au regard des préjudices subis.Il n’y a Pas de transats pour se reposerLe BBQ n’est pas du tout accessible.Les canapés sentent l’humiditéL’environnement est pauvre en activités,les gens du coin paraissent peu aimables (cf le voisin qui se fiche d’aider une famille qui veut rentrer le véhicule dans l’allée, ils nous a laissés galèrer en nous regardant faire à plusieurs reprises, une sorte de spectacle pour lui).En outre à plusieurs reprises il y’a eu des feux de bois qui sentaient les produits chimiques.Ma Compagne est partie courir elle a fait demi tour au bout de 500m face à trois chiens errants agressifs.Pas du tout à la hauteur de sa réputation.Je ne recommande pas

Notre expérience de location n'a malheureusement pas été à la hauteur de nos attentes, basées sur la description annoncée.* **Accès et localisation :** L'accès au logement est très difficile. La route est extrêmement pentue, déconseillée aux véhicules peu puissants. La manœuvre pour entrer dans la propriété est complexe en raison de la pente, d'un dos-d'âne et de l'étroitesse de la voie. Contrairement à l'annonce, la plage de Ponta do Sol n'est pas accessible en 6 minutes mais en 20 min. * **État du logement et équipements :** L'équipement de la cuisine est assez limité pour le nombre de personnes que la maison peut accueillir. Nous avons constaté que certains éléments étaient endommagés (la hotte aspirante et un tiroir de la cuisine) et ils n'ont pas été réparés pendant notre séjour. Le mobilier de jardin (transats) mentionné ou attendu pour une location de cette gamme était absent. Le barbecue était difficile d'accès et nous n'avons pas pu l'utiliser. Une odeur persistante d'humidité se dégageait des canapés.* **Gestion et communication :** Le gestionnaire, "An Island Apart", a été informé de ces désagréments mais aucune solution ou compensation n'a été proposée durant notre séjour pour améliorer la situation.* **Environnement :** L'environnement immédiat est très calme, mais assez isolé avec peu d'activités à proximité sans voiture. Nous avons été incommodés à plusieurs reprises par des fumées odorantes provenant de feux aux alentours.
