Perfect for the whole family, this first-floor apartment offers a comfortable home from home for guests seeking something a little bit different in the lakes. Nestled in our gorgeous converted farmyard, Crummock will allow for you to experience the majesty of Esthwaite and Far Sawrey without the crowds or frantic buzz of the busier villages in the region. You can also make use of the large lawned area complete with seating overlooking the stunning lake and countryside surroundings, so whether you’re a couple looking for a romantic break or a small family looking for the perfect escape to the serenity of the lakes, this apartment is the perfect choice for a memorable holiday in the hidden gem that is our Esthwaite Howe Farmyard. All of our Esthwaite Howe apartments are fitted with a kitchen with an oven, microwave, kettle and toaster, as well as basic cooking utensils and cutlery, etc. Each bathroom also has a heated towel rail and clothes airer. The communal laundry facilities with both washer and dryer are found to the right-hand side of the courtyard as you enter, which guests are welcome to use at their leisure. Really enjoyed our stay

Had glorious weather and fabulous surrounds and really enjooyed our stay. Lovely holiday outlet in incomparable environment wish could have stayed longer....will be back.......tried spotting ospreys....but at least saw them fishing when I lived nearby some years back....

Excellent Location

Enjoyed our stay, peaceful and close to much of the district we wanted to see. Looks nicer in the photos, it was clean just a little dated.

February stay at Crummock cottage

Brilliant location. Double bedroom a little small and 4 adults in the cottage was a bit of a squash as there is limited seating and the table has to be opened up each time to seat 4 people. Heating in the main living area and bedrooms was great but no heating in the bathroom, so very cold. The area is beautiful though. You can walk into Grizedale in one direction and Windermere in the other.

great stay

Well equipped, comfy bed and pillows. Needs a decoration refresh. Needs separate recycling bins and dog waste bins, all waste goes in the same bin. Better signage on the main estate for all walks, only found sign for one of the trails.

Nice but dated

Stayed here before but in a different cottage. It is very dated and could do with an upgrade, but it served a purpose and was worth the money.

Cottage near sawrey

Lovely cottage. Nice and clean. Good location for seeing the lake district. Did need a bit of a clean outside the cottage. The stairs leading up to the accommodation. Wasn't stayted on description there where steps going up into cottage.

A lovely stay in Crummock Cottage near Sawrey

We booked Crummock Cottage for the two of us with the intention to enjoy walks and the natural environment there. It was an excellent choice, with walks over to Grizedale, along Esthwaite, Windermere and up to the tarns, Moss Eccles and further along, all from the doorstep with packed lunches in our rucksack. We used the little bus from Sawrey once and the car on a couple of occasions to visit some of the local villages and heritage places. We were also very lucky with the weather, which was a real bonus. We used the picnic benches in front of the barn and were fascinated by the flying Barn Owls every evening. The cottage had everything we needed, although we had initially to locate the extension leads for the bedside lights and opening windows was not that easy

Dirty Cottage

Der Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft war leider sehr schlecht! Bei Anreise mussten wir zunächst putzen, Dreckwäsche von Vormietern wegräumen und Möbel provisorisch reparieren, um es halbwegs aushalten zu können. Die ganze Wohnung ist renovierungsbedürftig, es gibt einen hässlichen Wasserschaden unter der Decke und ekeliger Dreck als Ergebnis jahrelanger schlechter Putzarbeit ließ ein wenig Wohlfühlen gar nicht erst zu.Geschirr stand schmutzig im Schrank, der Dunstabzug war ekelig fettig und speckig, die Couch roch nach nassem, ungepflegten Hund.Die Dusche wurde nur durch schimmeliges Silikon zusammengehalten und den Zustand hinterm Spülkasten möchte ich nicht näher beschreiben...!Der verschimmelte Duschkopf war nicht zu benutzen!Überall waren Staubfäden und Spinnweben, der muffelnde Teppich strotzte nur so vor langen, ekeligen Hundehaaren!Das Küchenfenster war einfach verglast und komplett verschimmelt, das Fenster im Wohnzimmer war defekt, Lüften war kaum möglich.Der Vermieter ist leider unkulant und entschied sich gegen eine Entschädigung.Diese Unterkunft sollte eigentlich in diesem Zustand niemandem angeboten werden!

Perfect family getaway

We booked Crummock cottage as had friends staying nearby and was looking for somewhere for the family to stay over the Easter weekend. So pleased that I found the Graythwaite cottages when searching. Perfect place for a quiet getaway. Peaceful setting close to Esthwaite water with a small cluster of cottages together and just a few minutes drive to Hawkshead and a 15 minutes drive to Ambleside. Perfect for exploring and easy to get to popular locations like Grizedale forest and Coniston. Cottage was fully equipped, kitchen had everything needed and warm shower in the bathroom. Beds comfortable and had a great nights sleep after our adventures. Parking outside clearly marked for each cottage and area outside for the children to run around and play. All in all a Perfect stay for a quiet getaway

Crummock

Taps in the bathroom unstable and wobbly. Fridge was leaking on the floor on arrival - we tried to fix it but not sure if it's at the temperature it's supposed to be. Freezer door on the top is ripped off which may be source of the problem? Everything else was great, we love our stay and the few little details are worth it for the location.
