About this property

The Indianola Boathouse

Convenient access to Kingston, Bainbridge and Poulsbo. A beautifully equipped studio apartment over a detached garage provides safety, privacy, and serenity in a quiet neighborhood on the water.

Located in Indianola on the Kitsap Peninsula, this property is just ten minutes from the Kingston Ferry. Take a walk on the beach, soak in the sun and enjoy the view of Mount Rainier! Five minutes away, hike the Heritage Trail. Explore nearby local towns with antiques, art, and boutique shops. Other outdoor adventures, wineries, breweries, and fine dining are also close by. Ask for my personal Kitsap and Olympic guide via email before you arrive!

The Boathouse is superbly appointed with luxurious materials including stone countertops and hardwood flooring. It is decorated with a leather recliner, home office, large dining/game table, smart TV, and a kitchenette. Get creative cooking with an induction burner, electric skillet, toaster oven, crock pot, microwave, coffee maker, undercounter refrigerator and an outdoor gas grill. An additional refrigerator and freezer space in the garage with ice and plenty of room for groceries is also available upon request. The Boathouse is ideal for two adults but will sleep up to 4. A queen bed and two twin captain beds plus a portable crib.

Relax and reboot your spirits in this charming oasis featuring fresh air and filtered water (PH 9.0 - 9.5). The unit has a 3-stage air purifier HEPA filter and a ductless heating and air conditioning unit for your safety and comfort.

By car, Indianola is fifteen minutes to Poulsbo, twenty minutes to Bainbridge Island or ten minutes to Kingston. Silverdale and the Bangor Keyport Naval base are twenty-five minutes away. A Kitsap Transit Bus line is located just outside the neighborhood entrance. The Kitsap Fast Ferry to Seattle is out of the Kingston Ferry terminal. The Fast Ferry has limited sailing runs from Kingston to Seattle, a forty-minute boat trip. The Bainbridge, Kingston, and Bremerton ferries connect you to Edmonds and Seattle with regular sailings throughout the day 4:45 am - 1:30 am.

Just a few hours away, the Olympic Peninsula is a world class destination. Be sure to visit the Olympic National Park, which is comprised of Lake Crescent, Sol Duc Hot Springs, the Hoh Rain Forest and the Pacific Ocean. “With its incredible range of precipitation and elevation, diversity is the hallmark of Olympic National Park. Encompassing nearly a million acres, the park protects a vast wilderness, thousands of years of human history, and several distinctly different ecosystems, including glacier-capped mountains, old-growth temperate rain forests, and over 70 miles of wild coastline. Come explore!"

Spend another day strolling the streets of Port Townsend, a Victorian seaport where you can take a whale watch tour to Friday Harbor. “This quaint and picturesque seaside burg is surrounded by water on three sides (Discovery Bay, Strait of Juan de Fuca, Admiralty Inlet), and enjoys stunning views of both the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges.”

Great Stay
Not only was the location cozy and clean, but the host was also very quick to reply when I did feel the need to reach out. The living and sleeping area was spacious enough for two adults and the kitchenette was stocked as we had expected (with basic utensils and cooking capabilities). The neighborhood is quiet and secluded which was nice to return to after the day's adventures. Checking in and out was seamless too, and there were clear instructions included as well. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet getaway!

Lovely Studio Apartment (Water Adjacent)
The studio apartment was clean and provided ample room for my spouse and two young children. The host provided plenty of amenities (coffee, fruit, towels, water, shampoo/conditioner, etc) and all instructions were clear and easy to understand. We had a lovely, comfortable stay! The weather was cold to us Californians but the heater worked great, there were plenty of blankets and no issues with the hot water. Loved having access to the beach (a sandy one too!) and the beautiful neighborhood is an easy walk. We look forward to visiting again!

Welcome to my home! I'm a retired school teacher, providing guests a stay at my home for rest and relaxtion and a home base while you explore the Kitsap Peninsula or the greater Seattle area. I enjoy gardening and take pride in the care of my home. My favorite place to visit out of area is Maui, and my most intersting places I've visited are the Peruvian Amazon River, Ecuador with the highlights being Machu Pichu and and the Galapagos. I love the green forests and off-the-beaten-trails here on the Kitsap Peninsula. A world class destination, this region is a designated World Heritage Site with much to explore. (my local guide can be sent to you on email on request!)

"Airbnb vs. Vrbo
One of the biggest differences between the two companies is that Vrbo (through Expedia Group) offers its own trip insurance in the form of Travel Protection and Damage Protection. The plan offers substantial peace of mind to go with the financial protection of 100% reimbursement for trip-related costs if you’re unable to travel as planned. You can also add an extra element of security with the company’s Damage Protection plan."
