Welcome to Mahonia Lodge, a family-friendly retreat designed to offer you an unforgettable getaway experience (four adults and four children). Situated at the picturesque Mercia Marina, Mahonia Lodge boasts an uninterrupted view of the tranquil ornamental lake, providing a serene backdrop for your stay.



The Space:

Mahonia lodge is furnished in a contemporary style, featuring elegant wooden floors and luxurious Italian leather sofas. The dining area accommodates eight guests comfortably, both inside the living area and on the surrounding deck, making it perfect for family meals and gatherings.



The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including built-in double ovens, a microwave with a combi grill, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, and a washer/dryer. For your entertainment, the living area features a Samsung smart TV, Bluetooth speakers, and a cosy flame effect fire, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.



Inside, the sleeping accommodation is luxurious and versatile. The master bedroom offers a king-sized bed with an ensuite bathroom, providing a private sanctuary for relaxation. The second bedroom features a super king-sized bed, which can also be arranged as two large single beds to suit your needs. The third bedroom is perfect for children or additional guests, with four adult-sized bunk beds (90×200).



A large family bathroom serves these rooms, ensuring ample facilities for all guests.



Every bedroom is fitted with a smart TV, allowing you to unwind with your favourite shows.



Mahonia Lodge is pet-friendly, welcoming up to two well-behaved dogs for a supplement. An outdoor hot and cold dog shower is provided to keep your furry friends clean and fresh after their adventures.



This luxury lodge is a non-smoking and non-vaping property, ensuring a clean and pleasant environment for all guests. The lodge offers parking for two vehicles and includes all kitchen, bathroom, and bed linen, duvets and pillows, and towels.



Guests will also have access to the marina’s amenities, including a free-use community bike share scheme, an outdoor trim trail, and a children’s play area. Gas central heating and electricity are included in your stay, ensuring your comfort throughout the year.

Here, visitors can explore a variety of shops, including a farm shop, clothing boutiques, and gift stores. The Boardwalk also offers a delightful selection of dining options, from casual cafes to fine dining restaurants, all with picturesque views of the water.

Surrounded by lush greenery and home to many species of wildlife, visitors can enjoy scenic walks along the marina’s nature trails, taking in the sights and sounds of local flora and fauna.

Getting Around:

Mercia Marina is a popular location for boaters, visitors, and those wanting to explore the surrounding area, but as it’s a relatively rural location, public transport options are somewhat limited. However, there are still a few ways to get around the marina and reach nearby towns and attractions. There are several bus routes serving the area around Mercia Marina, although they can be limited, particularly during off-peak times. The main bus service is Route 9: This bus route connects Mercia Marina to Derby and Willington. It's a good option for heading into Derby for shopping, sightseeing, or connecting to other parts of the region. The bus stops near the marina, and you can travel to Derby city centre in about 30 minutes.

The closest train station is located a short 1.5 miles from Mercia Marina and is easily accessible by either walking or getting a taxi. Trains from Willington connect to Derby and the East Midlands region. From Derby, you can access services to cities like Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham, and further afield.
