About janna taninbaum
We love to fix up homes and bring back the beautty! I have years of experience in my work as an interior designer. I have a dog, Betty, she loves the country! We fenced in and gated much of the area around the house just for her. Woodstock is such a great community, we love it there.
janna taninbaum purchased this Cottage in 2005
Why janna taninbaum chose Mount Tremper
Woodstock is what I call an island in the country. Its full of city people that have come to the country, and with them they have brought the arts, music and nature appreciation. this is a non judgemental community, its wonderful. I also call it a commune but we all have our own homes to go to. we meet up in the restaurants like its one big dinner party, or at the bearsville theater or on the hike to overlook. we gather together to help each other when in need, to raise funds when one is in trouble due to a house burning down, or when one does not have the insurance coverage for their illness. you feel the goodness instantly. the house is the last of the artist style homes along this road from woodstock. I loved the 12' floor to ceiling stone fireplace, and the 11 foot window in the main room, and that i what drew me to this diamond in the rough. i knew that i could make this shine. Also, the location is such the you feel like your way out in the country, but only less than 10 min to the village by car.
What makes this Cottage unique
The views in the morning from the masterbedroom bed are so romantic. sometimes one can see the family of deer looking for some berries. while hanging in the hammock, you cant believe what nature passes by! To go swimming in the lake is so refreshing. To just take a quick drive down the road to the Bearsville theater, you cant believe what music shows up there!

Living room window!
The window in the living room is beautiful!
Thanks David for your appreciation of the last of the woodstock artist windows to the west of the village. These windows are from the turn of the 19th century/ 20th c. Probably from a local factory.. The base of the house has been identified as what was a farm field house . If you walked up the hill, you would have seen the old well. Anyway, its an old part of the NYState history. Glad you enjoyed, Janna
nice area, pretty views, nice accommodations
Easy to access, good communication of expectations, enjoyed the place
We had a great time at Janna’s home! Access couldn’t have been easier and Janna was responsive. Home was clean and spacious
We enjoyed our stay !
We attended a wedding at Onteora Mountain House. This house was perfect - quiet, peaceful, comfortable beds, all the amenities for our short stay. And the AC was a real plus for this hot and muggy July weekend. Thank you Janna for your quick responses. It was a true pleasure.
Beautiful home, relaxing spaces, positive experience
Even with some rain, we had a very relaxing stay at your home. Well stocked with everything we needed, comfortable beds/furniture and plenty of space for our teenage sons to avoid us... Rent and enjoy.
The swimming pool closest is at the Emerson spa and hotel. about 7 minutes away. I believe they have a day rate, or a monthly rate as well, to include the gym and spa treatments., etc. Tubing on the esopus creek/river, swimming lake ( if allow that time, always changes) walk down the path from the house, including rentals for canoe and kayak, the house has a an eliptical ,snow shoes for use we are within 30 min to three ski lodges too!
