The Presidential Lodge at Steinhatchee Landing

This three bedroom, three and one-half bath home is located in Steinhatchee Landing Resort. A former vacation home of President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter, the house is ideally located for guests wishing to scallop, fish, or just enjoy the resort's many amenities, which include an outdoor pool, exercise facilities, sauna, hot tub, petting zoo, archery range, tennis and basketball courts. Fish and scallop cleaning facilities are located on the property for guest convenience. The open living area, kitchen, and dining room provide ideal space for guests to socialize while meals are prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. Each spacious bedroom has its own private bath. Two screen porches overlook the beautiful Steinhatchee River, which flows directly into the Gulf of Mexico just three miles downstream. Full laundry facilities are located in the house.

The community of Steinhatchee is located in Florida's Big Bend on the Gulf of Mexico. This small community boasts an old Florida charm, yet contains amenities that guests might need, from shopping to banking to emergency health care.

Great place with great host

Took the entire family for scalloping. It was a perfect place. The home has plenty of room for my family of 5. It’s very convenient to the boat dock. There is also plenty of room for trailer parking. The host was very approachable and communication was easy. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Cozy Cottage

We have been coming to Steinhatchee landing for 13 years and have stayed in many of the cottages. You can tell that this cottage is well cared for by it's owners. Everyone had their own comfortable bedroom and private bath and we we had plenty of room to come together in the main living area. Communication with the property manager was excellent.

This house is a great cozy cottage that is the best situated in the entire neighborhood. Lots of shade trees and a great floor plan and it’s really nice that every bedroom has its own bathroom. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked it again next year.

The home was so comfortable and homey! It had everything we needed and the location in the Landing is ideal. Near the boat docks, fire pit and petting zoo. We got our limit on scallops each day and even caught grouper offshore one day. Thanks for the awesome stay!

We really enjoyed our long weekend scalloping, it’s beautiful home and a great location. We brought a boat and trailer parking was plentiful and onsite. The docks are floating docks and a short walk to the house. The pool was great as well and the community had a lot of amenities to offer. Would definitely recommend!

We had the most wonderful stay at The Presidential Lodge in Steinhatchee Landing from Wednesday, August 27 through Sunday, August 31. The house itself was absolutely beautiful—spacious, thoughtfully designed, and filled with charm. The porches were perfect for gathering with family and friends, whether for morning coffee or late-night conversations, and quickly became our favorite hangout spots.The beds were incredibly comfortable, making every night’s sleep restful and rejuvenating after long days snorkeling. Every detail in the lodge added to the sense of relaxation and ease, creating the perfect backdrop for our scalloping getaway.If you’re looking for a serene retreat with all the comforts of home (and then some), The Presidential Lodge is a dream. Wanting to find a warmer winter environment (rather than northwest Minnesota) they also sought an area that was quiet, dog friendly, and boasted exceptional fishing.
