Just Us

Quiet neighborhood and a space with a good view. Taught us that Playa del Rey is a great alternative to Marina del Rey. The hosts were welcoming and accommodating.

Do not book here; host double books

We arrived to the property after an 8 hour drive to find the unit lockbox was already open and other people's things were already inside. The host offered zero communication; it's been 3 days and they still haven't responded. VRBO has promised to issue a refund, but we had to scramble to find a last-minute hotel and then spend a chunk of our post-trip time on the phone with customer service.

Has potential

I'm sad to say when we arrived the first thing I noticed were cigarette buds in the fireplace, in a cup near the sink and a small dish on the nightstand; mind you the description of the property was non-smoking. This prompt me to check out the bedding. One of the pillows had perfume in it and we surmised that the bed had not been changed from the last guest and probably the blanket covering the coach as well. The girlfriend of the host came in and changed the sheets. After she left we checked all the other washable items in the room, some of which needed to be washed. "We were still in a state of a pandemic, mind you". We requested that our room be thoroughly cleaned, but would have to wait until the next day, because it was too late in the evening. The bathroom door, which was pretty cool (barn door style), would not close at all because it was installed crooked/at a slant. The big screen TV was a bust! It had two black lines running through the middle of the screen. It should be taken down and replaced. As far as the beautiful backyard & garden goes, it was sorely in need of tender loving care. The hot tube was not in service while we were there. The general property could be quite beautiful if it were better maintained. The suite itself was very charming and quaint, but it took us a while before we could get comfortable. The host did not respond to us until a few hours before our arrival, which made us nervous; hoping we really had a place to stay.

Big miscommunication

When i arrived at the property the owner was in the bath and took about 20 minutes of waiting until he showed up. Then he told us there was a mixup and the room we rented was already being rented by someone with Another rental app. So he offered us another room in the house but it was smaller and didn’t have any of the same amenities as the other. And the hot tub that was advertised was off the whole time. And was overflowing. Very disappointed

My daughter and I really injoy staying at Mr. Brendon house . Mara is a great host and friendly we feel welcome. The room very clean and homie and organized. The house near the beach, the garden is beautiful you can seat relax read your book and do your barbecue, My daughter injoy the hot tub that is the best. If you like to watch the sunset go down go on the roof top roof bring your coffee or drink 🍹and you can see playa Vista and Marina view...,
