After a career in the software industry and raising 2 children, I left Austin to move full time to Caballo Creek Ranch, about a mile up the road from my new guest houses. In looking around for what to do next, I chose to combine my interests in travel, the Texas Hill Country, and home decor into a vacation rental business. I began in 2017 by redecorating an existing house with some of my favorite artwork and furniture from my previous home in Austin. I found myself taking great pleasure in seeing guests enjoy my property and decided to build the Green and Blue Casitas in 2018 as vacation rentals.

Why Nancy Woodward chose Johnson City
Having lived in Austin since 1978, I have long considered the Austin area to be home. In the 1990’s I was able to achieve my lifetime dream of owning horses and went looking for ranch property accessible to Austin. Now that I live here full time, I find this location perfect. It is just far enough from Austin to maintain its rural feel but close enough to take advantage of all Austin has to offer
What makes this house unique
This lodging is a reflection of my personal taste and more importantly, of all the conveniences I look for when traveling. I have tried to attend to the details that I look for in a hotel — counter and storage space in the bathrooms, a complete coffee offering, spa-quality bathroom amenities, clean and comfortable bedding and of course, wifi access. But what distinguishes the Casita from a hotel is that all this comfort is nestled in a secluded and rural setting. For me, it’s the best of both worlds.
