About the host
Hosted by Stuart Farm

Stuart Farm was established in 1856 with the original house built in 1857 by the first Scottish settlers Captain Donald Stuart, his wife Anne (nee Mcleod) and their seven children. Donald's life as a merchant seamanship ceased when he and a crew of men were lost at sea in 1874, Anne survived him until 1897.
Their eldest son Murdoch, married Mary Mcleod from a Scottish settler family and together they raised four children, residing in the House until 1936 when they sold the property. Murdoch was the Whangarei Harbour Pilot for over 40 years and during this period Mary operated the post office and telephone exchange.
The Tattley Family bought the property 1974 and have resided here for over 50 years and have recently re-located the second dwelling in 2020 from St Mary's Rd. Waipu.
