Welcome to our place in Lower West Pubnico. We built this home to be a quiet, comfortable space to land, whether you’re visiting the South Shore for a change of pace, some coastal exploring, or just need a change of scenery to get some work done. It’s a bright, modern spot, and we’re happy to share it with you.
The Space
Our favourite part of the house is the view of the harbour. It’s pretty calming to watch the fishing boats come and go while you’re having your morning coffee on the deck. Inside, we’ve kept things simple and open. If you’re here to relax, there’s an electric fireplace for the evenings and a large TV if you want to catch up on your shows. If you’re here to work, the fibre internet is fast and reliable—no buffering headaches here.
A few notes on the rooms:
The Bedroom: It’s a quiet space with a medium-firm king mattress from Endy that we find very comfortable. There’s plenty of room to tuck your luggage away under the bed or in the closet so you aren't living out of a suitcase.
The Den: This room is flexible. It’s a great, sunlit spot to set up a laptop, but if you’re travelling with someone else, the pull-out couch with a queen mattress is ready for a good night’s rest.
The practical stuff:
The Kitchen: It’s fully stocked with everything you need for cooking. To keep the space looking clean, you’ll notice the fridge and dishwasher are hidden behind cabinet doors to the left. We also have a water dispenser with hot and cold taps.
Laundry: Tucked away to the right of the bathroom, you’ll find a full-size LG WashTower (washer and dryer) for your convenience.
Staying comfortable: We have a heat pump that handles the AC and heating, so you can keep the place exactly how you like it.
Connectivity: High-speed fibre internet throughout.
Entertainment: The Sony TV is ready for your Netflix, Disney+, or Prime logins.
The Garden
We’ve put a lot of heart into the landscaping here. The rock garden is something we built ourselves using stones unearthed during the property’s excavation back in 2023, and much of the wood you see incorporated into the grounds is either driftwood we’ve collected or timber from fallen trees on the property. As for the plants, it’s a bit of a local collection—some come from Ouest Ville Perennials right here in Pubnico, while others are "pass-along" plants from friends and family, or native species like wild ferns and blueberries that we’ve encouraged to thrive.
Getting settled
The whole house and the yard are yours during your stay, with lots of space to park.
About the neighbourhood
Lower West Pubnico is a lovely place to spend a few days. It’s home to a strong Acadian community, and the local walking trails right by the water are perfect if you want to get outside for a bit of fresh air. We hope you enjoy the quiet (and the excitement nearby) as much as we do.
