The Heceta House vacation rental is a lovely and comfortable home within walking distance to Heceta Beach. The top level of this house is a "surf shack" style room, where you can sit and read the day away and watch the ocean.
There is a wonderfully whimsical room for children with an undersea mural painted on the wall and a bunk bed in the shape of a boat. And two additional bedrooms both with queen beds. Relax in the upstairs master suite which has claw foot tub and second TV/DVD. Open the windows and let the sounds of the sea rock you to sleep.
Sit and enjoy the company of family and friends next to the fireplace, enjoy walks to the beach, or come visit the quaint shops and restaurants in Old Town Florence.
Florence draws folks from all over for its lakes, mini-golf, world renowned golf course, horse-back riding, hiking, quaint downtown, tide pools, dunes and whale watching.
The Heceta House is the perfect place to come enjoy the feel of being at the beach.
The Fisherman's Cottage is a separate studio rental on the same property that can sleep an additional 2 people with the new double bed. Soothing colors and reclaimed wood provide the perfect escape for a romantic weekend or beachside solitude. The cottage is just steps to the beach and it is equipped with TV/DVD microwave, mini-fridge and eating area.
Ahhh....what a wonderful, cozy home. We went with two families and had such a lovely, restorative time. We enjoyed the area so much and couldn't wait to get back to the house after a day of adventuring. We loved that the house felt like a home rather than a vacation rental, it's clear how much the owners love their beach getaway--We'll be back soon!
It was an ok house and met our needs thanks
Dishonest owner. Beware this owner will cancel your reservation with no cause (except they feel like using the house the week you reserve it) We reserved his home well over 6 months in advanced for a family reunion Thanksgiving trip (we also reserved 3 others homes in the neighborhood which we did not have problems with) With a family of 5 from Atlanta the flight expense from Atlanta is huge (we had already made the airfare commitment being we had paid for the rental house in full in advance). Sadly this owner decided they wanted to use the home and canceled our reservation for Thanksgiving week only a month prior. This caused us to have to rent a home all most 10 miles away from our family for he entire week. This owners selfish act impacted our family reunion in a daily bases for an entire week. I cannot stress enough that anyone who does not have flexibly travel plans should NOT rent from this owner.
Comfortable accommodations, great dining table for family dinners and games. Great fenced deck with seating and a baby swing. We enjoyed the hot tub and looking at the ocean view from the crow's nest. The fisherman's cabin had a fun rustic feel with the tin roof and fun decor. Main house is a loft style with only one bedroom that is fully closed off from the rest of the house. The kid's bunk beds are fun, but if kids go to bed before adults they may need to sleep somewhere else due to the loft style of that room.
We stayed in this awesme home for 6 nights. It was perfect for our family. We had 3 adults a teen and 2 children ages 6 and 6 months.y We also had guest join us from Portland, 3 nights and Seattle, 2 nights...the separate fishermans cottage came in handy for them.
A group of 10 of us stayed in this lovely home that is within a short walking distance to the beach (some of the walk is along the road with no sidewalk, but it's not a busy road). The amenities were very nice (fireplace, hot tub, the nearby beach) and the tile shower downstairs and the claw-foot tub upstairs really set a nice tone for relaxing in the house. The kitchen was decently stocked with spices from previous guests and a good selection of cookware from the owners. Our only complaint was that while the house is marked for up to 10, we had a hard time accommodating all 10 of our party in a few ways. The bath linens there were not adequate for 10, especially when you factor in cooking every meal at the house like we did (there were not enough dishwasher tablets or kitchen towels). We were able to manage the bath linen shortage ok, but the bedding shortage was very problematic for our group - we would have been glad to bring more bedding, but the welcome email mentioned that we wouldn't need to...thus we did not bring bedding. If you plan on sleeping more that 8 comfortably, bring bedding for at least 2. Other than that, this house was amazing and we would highly recommend it!
