Overview

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 14)

Come enjoy this beautiful new 4,500 sq ft lakefront retreat with stunning views on the main channel of the Lake of the Ozarks. Appropriately named Eagles Rest for the majestic bald eagles that nest nearby and delight those in their path. We are located on south side of lake at 48MM by water, and off Lake Road 7-13 (Bollinger Creek Rd) by land. There is plenty of room for everyone with 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, 2 large kitchens/bar, 2 living areas plus a recreation area. This tastefully decorated home with private dock was completed in December 2010 - the home and most everything in it is new. Enjoy the incredible views on the main channel!

From the spacious decks, walk down concrete steps to your private oversize dock! Lots of fun is waiting here, complete with a huge swim platform, diving board, jump platform and 1 guest slip (12' x 38'). There are 3 popular restaurant/bars nearby on the water and many coves to put down an anchor. There is a fantastic rock formation where you may be fortunate enough to see a bald eagle perched.

Your vacation paradise is perfectly set up to sleep 14 in beds. There is a main level master suite fit for a king complete with king bed, master bath with jetted tub and sitting room on the lakeside; 2 bedrooms on the main level roadside that share a spacious bathroom (1 King, 1 Queen); 1 King size lower level bedroom on the lakeside with a large bath immediately next to it; and a 5th bedroom lower level - a children's dormitory room that sleeps 6 children with 2 full size bunk beds, each with a twin bed on top. This combo room has it's own full bath. All beds have very comfortable mattresses, nice sheets and pillows.

When you feel like staying in, there is plenty to do with a regulation size pool table, lower level bar/kitchen with pub table to seat 8, board games, foozball table, stereo, TV on the lower level, Blu Ray, and a flat panel TV in the upper living room. All kitchens and adult baths have granite stone tops and beautiful cabinetry. Cook as much as you like in the fully equipped gourmet kitchen that seats 6 plus dining room for 8 on main level, or go enjoy one of the many nearby restaurants on the water right from the dock, with your boat. A few other conveniences include 2 car garage, washer/dryer, additional full size refrigerator on lower level, gas grill, and kids gaming TV in their dormitory room. We also completed a great fire pit area near the lowest level deck to enjoy family campfires with a great view of lake. Wi-Fi internet access is also included.

One of the best amenities of this home is the privacy and view. Turn up your favorite music and take in the spectacular view from the spacious decks and dock, as there are no immediate neighbors - just your gang, nature, and the lake! Keep it all for your own family, or share it with other families at a fraction of the cost of as many hotel rooms. There are outside speakers and stereo equipment with iPod connector on the dock. Don't miss this great opportunity to enjoy your vacation dream at our private home, Eagles Rest retreat!

About Mike & Ruth

We are a family who fell in love with the Lake of the Ozarks at a young age. We bought our first vacation home here at the lake in 2000 and raised our children on the water every summer.

Mike & Ruth purchased this house in 2010

Why Mike & Ruth chose Missouri

We bought this home for the incredible views and it is the perfect floor plan to comfortably entertain and enjoy a large extended family. The lake takes a sharp bend near our home, allowing extended views from both directions.

What makes this house unique

Our home is completely surrounded by acres of trees - no neighbors, yet plenty to watch on main channel. Our dock is oversized with a large swim platform, diving board, and jump platform with a guest boat slip. The beautiful decks and most every room enjoy amazing views of the water. The large downstairs rec room and fantastic bar allow everyone to really relax or keep the fun going after a day on the water.

An Amazing Location - Five years running

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to this house for five years. Our group, mostly the same, have always been impressed each and every year with the privacy of the home, the amazing and vast view, the enormous dock and all the space in the home. This house is so well put together that 10 adults can all feel comfortable and never worry about having a place to go if you need some alone time.

The pool table, the wet bar in the ground level, the foosball table, the two televisions with DirecTV always give countless options for entertainment of, for some reason, you would get tired of spending all your time on the dock with friends and family. The new diving board and fish cleaning station on the dock just adds more options for a trip to the lake.

I can see continuing our yearly visits to your vacation home for quite some time. Thank you again for making another long weekend here memorable.

Karla P - Our third family trip to the Ozarks and this was our favorite house

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful modern home With a gorgeous view. We loved the large dock and the privacy we had with no near neighbors. The house was stocked well with supplies needed. We planned meals and brought a lot of food so we didn't need to spend our time running to the grocery store. There are convenience stores 10 minutes away but a fully stocked grocery store will take 30 minutes. The game room was a hit in the evening. One of my favorite things was just sitting on the deck or dock and enjoying all the beauty of nature especially when the bald eagle would soar above us. We took a hike up the driveway and located the eagles nest. This was our end of the summer trip to relax and enjoy family time and this was the perfect spot to do just that. The owners Mike and Ruth were quick to respond to any questions we had prior to booking and upon our arrival. I would highly recommend this property to anyone that doesn't want to be right in the midst of the commercialized part of the lake.

Spacious and quiet

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time! We were out and about a lot of the time, but when we got back at the end of the day, it was nice for our group of 11 to come back to a beautiful home with plenty of space to spread out. The foosball and pool tables were well used.

The owners were very diligent. We had some wifi issues the first day out and called Mike and Ruth. Even though the problem seemed to go away on its own, they were very willing to make it right immediately. This made our stay worry free. Thank you!

Love this property!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a long weekend as part of a group of 10 and had a fantastic time. The house and property were immaculate and designed conveniently. We had more than enough room for our group to sleep and relax comfortably . Having a second kitchen was especially helpful. We enjoyed the view and would love to return!

Very Nice

  • 3 of 5

Overall, our group had an amazing time during our stay. The house sits by itself so it was nice having the area all to ourselves without a bunch of other boats and docks next to us. It sits next to a beautiful cove where the men and boys attempted to catch some fish. The dock was huge and accommodated our big party. It is covered so it provides plenty of shade. The kids absolutely loved the diving board and high dive! The bedrooms and beds themselves are all nice sizes. There were a few things with the home we wished could have worked better or provided to us in better condition. The air conditioning only worked on the lower level. The upstairs was extremely warm. Although fans were provided for the 3 bedrooms upstairs (along with ceiling fans) it made it difficult for some to sleep. The main sitting room, dining room and kitchen area would be quite warm when gathering together in the evening. There were no working coffee pots (a total of 3--one was full of white mold!!). There is a refrigerator down at the dock which is nice to keep drinks and food in to avoid a bunch a trips back and forth up to the house. However, it didn't appear that the fridge had been cleaned in quite some time. It was full of dead bugs and smelled like fish. Also, upon our arrival (which was after the minimum check in time), the cleaning crew was still working. It seemed as though they were rushing to get out and didn't do the greatest job vacuuming after the previous guests. Even with a minimum total of 14 people staying a full week with 3 meals per day, it's unreasonable to only allow the guests a total of 2 large trash bags to be left behind and then charge $4.00 for each additional bag. Even with using the plates and utensils provided, our group went through much more than 2 bags. The house we rented the year prior did not charge us for trash. We rented the pontoon boat which was nice for a few nice and relaxing trips around the lake. It's maximum speed is not fast enough to pull a tube though.

Owner's Response: We are sorry the upper level of the house temperature wasn't as cool as you wanted. After receiving your call and trouble-shooting over the phone with you, we sent out an HVAC professional who fixed the problem. After that you indicated the temperatures were much more comfortable upstairs. We provide 1 Keurig and 2 regular coffeemakers for our guests. We expect our guests to care for them as they would in their own home. Unfortunately, one coffeemaker must have been put away in the pantry by previous renters with coffee grounds in it and it sat there and molded. You told us none of the coffeemakers were working. We offered to reimburse you for the purchase of a new one (which you did not do). The renters after you had no complaints about coffee makers. We have since purchased 2 extra backup coffee makers. I am sorry there were bugs in our dock refrigerator, an upgrade this year to keep your food, drinks, and ice on the dock without having to carry coolers up and down the stairs. We had no idea guests would put dead fish in it! At night, bugs are attracted to an open door light! Our cleaning crew doesn't clean the dock so we expect our guests to treat it as their own home and politely wipe the refrigerator out if needed before checkout. In regards to our cleaning crew still being in our home upon your arrival, we only have a 6 hour turnover window between guests so yes, sometimes they will still be finishing up upon your arrival. You are still welcome to check-in to the clean areas of the house (just ask them) or relax on the dock or deck. Very rarely have we ever had negative comments regarding the cleanliness of our home. Our trash policy was communicated to you in the Rental Agreement you received prior to booking your vacation, in the welcome letter you received via email 3-4 days prior to arrival, in the rules book on the kitchen counter of our home and on our Check-out list posted near the front door and laundry room doors. We encourage our guests to read all paperwork. Finally, we give our guests the option of renting our pontoon boat. Although it is 20 years old, it is well maintained, dependable, and competitively priced. We send pictures of the boat before allowing anyone to rent it. I am sorry you weren't able to pull your tubers, we have had several renters pull small children with success. The rental agreement that you signed states "although tubing is allowed behind the pontoon, it is not going to be much fun for older teenagers or adults".

Beautiful property and location!

  • 4 of 5

One word - phenomenal!!

House was spacious, beautifully furnished with amazing views.

Dock was great. Lots of room to play, jump and fish.

This was our group of six adults and six kids’ fourth rental via VRBO in four different areas of the country and was easily everyone’s favorite property and location.

Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
