Enjoyed our stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five stayed for a weekend while going to the balloon festival. The location is very convenient! It was great to be right on the lake and have a dock, picnic table and hammock...very relaxing! The house was accurately described and clean. We would recommend staying here.

Beautiful and peaceful place!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our friends spent there a week, in May. That was our second visit. We love that beautiful and peaceful place and we are going to come back next year. The house is nice and clean as it shows on pictures. In the kitchen we could find everything we needed. So many DVD's that we could watch when it rained. AC worked fine and made our stay nice and cool. Comfortable beds and nicely furnished bedrooms. The Wassey's were very kind and helpful. They responded immediately whenever we had questions or needed help. Gorgeous lake view. Perfect place for fishing, relaxing, boating, shopping, spending time with family. Thank you The Wassey Family!!

AWESOME overall experience

  • 5 of 5

Five friends and I were lucky enough to stay at the Wassey home and we had a completely AWESOME experience. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the backyard was. The lake with the view of the mountains behind was absolutely gorgeous. We were lucky and had great weather for the 3 days we were there. We were able to use the fire pit at night for making s’mores and just relaxing. The grill worked great and we BBQ’d for dinner each evening. The first day we got there, the wood on the hammock cracked. We called up the owner and explained the situation. He came right over and took a look. The next day we headed out for our zip line adventure and he came over and fixed it, so we were able to use it once we got back. In the garage there were 3 bikes and a kayak. We unfortunately didn’t have time to use the bikes but we LOVED the tandem kayak. The bedrooms were cute and there was plenty of room for 6 people. The kitchen was stocked with plates and silverware and equipment for the BBQ. We went shopping after bringing our luggage in and we stocked up on food for the weekend and didn’t have to leave the luxury of this home. The Wassey’s were very courteous, kind and excellent hosts. We would DEFINITELY use this property again. Thank you Wasseys for everything!

Side Note: Adirondak eXtreme zip line in Bolton Landing is AMAZING!! It was both mentally and physically challenging. For all of you adventure seekers and outdoorsy types, it is a great place to test your limits!

charming house

  • 5 of 5

House description as advertised. Walk to the dock and enjoy Glen Lake. We brought along a canoe for fishing and the kids loved the Hobie tandem kayak (owner lend to renters) for water enjoyment. Loved the sunrise/sunset views while sipping coffee in the morning or relaxing after a day's activity. The caretaker was very responsive to our needs. The owner even gave us firewood for campfires. Many happy family memories made here.

Closed to everything - shops, outlets and Lake George village.

Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

House was nice and clean - as advertised. The owner was responsive and accommodating. The neighbors were nice and friendly. Access to Glen Lake was really nice when the sun finally came out. For the rainy days the large selection of DVDs was put to good use. House very comfortably accommodates 4 adults and can fit up to 7 adults.

A little misleading

  • 3 of 5

Just to be clear, this is a very nice house and most of the listing is accurate. And we did enjoy our time there. However, there were two issues that we had. First, the listing says "The appealing living room area is great for.....watching TV ...... " While it may be true, it's hard to watch TV when there is no cable or antenna. There was an extensive DVD collection, but how many DVD's can you watch in a week. I think even on vacation, you would like to see what's going on the world from time to time. Secondly, we would have liked to been able to walk into the lake. While the owner mentioned in a previous review that they cannot control "the natural condition of the lake", some property owners do by raking and cleaning out the leaves and other material directly in front of their property so you can walk in. We came with three toddlers and it would have been nice for them to be able to do wade into the lake. Also, I wouldn't have minded a more comfortable bed in the master bedroom.
