Great family house close to beach

The house is perfect for a family needing lots of space and entertainment options. While the updates arent perfect thats not why you vacation in Florida. The golf cart is also a fantastic optio.

The house and amenities were excellent and included everything we needed. Host was extremely quick to respond to any questions we had. Excellent location and everyone enjoyed taking the golf cart to breakfast, ice cream trips, etc. Would highly recommend!

Perfect location

It’s hard to find a better location. Neighborhood was fantastic, the beach access is a few minute golf cart ride, plenty of shopping and food close by. The property overall was great with a nice pool. It could use a little TLC in a few areas but I would absolutely book again.

Great trip. Great location and beautiful pool. Golf cart and private beach club access are fantastic. Only recommendation is that owner improve the pan/pot selection and cooking/eating utensils (we had to buy steak knives and sharp knives to preparing food). Overall nice place for family

Great Property

Property did not disappoint. Ideal place for us to stay, very close to friends who live in the area. Golf cart makes all the difference, no rental car needed. Pool and Hot Tub were a great way to wind down the day. Also loved that there were plenty of chairs and a cooler for the beach.

Amazing Property! We shall be back soon!!!

This place is paradise. We loved the area, very close to the beach, walking distance. The property overall all is a dream, the pool was really clean and the owner has made sure to stock the property with all the things you might need for the beach. The golf cart is an added bonus, we loved it so much because we were able to get around the town without using our own cars, parking in the beach area is difficult but the golf cart makes all the difference. We shall be back soon to stay many more days!

The house and amenities were great! Unfortunately, the weather was not. We were there for the whole week and torrential downpour every single day 🙁. The only decent day was the day before our last day. We liked how we had a golf cart and private access to the beach. Definitely recommend to stay here if you’re looking!

We recently stayed at the property. The back yard was great. It had a nice pool with a relaxing outdoor area. We encountered a few issues. The first morning we woke up to find one of our toilets was leaking and the leak was made worse after the shower was used once. We were told someone would be coming to fix it, but they never showed up. This left us with one working bathroom for 6 people for the weekend. We arrived Friday afternoon, so we didn’t plan to go to the beach until Saturday. When we were leaving for the beach, we realized the key fob to give us access to the private beach was not present, leaving us with a 6 or 8 block trek to the nearest public beach access. We did receive a new key fob Saturday afternoon, but we still missed out on one entire day of the beach. Luckily we had the pool at the house. The host was quick to respond to messages.

A Perfect Island Getaway!

We had an absolutely fantastic time at this amazing house! The private beach club access was a real highlight. The beach itself is stunning—peaceful and never crowded. Getting there was a breeze thanks to the 6-passenger golf cart, which made trips to the beach effortless. The private access point is conveniently located right across from the island, making it super easy to enjoy the shoreline.The house is incredibly well-equipped for a beach vacation. There was no shortage of beach towels, chairs, and toys, all neatly organized and easy to load onto the golf cart. For those days when we stayed in, the house offered plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. The backyard is fantastic with a heated pool that features a sun tanning ledge with lounge chairs and a relaxing jacuzzi. The outdoor tiki bar, complete with a huge TV, was perfect for winding down in the evenings. Plus, the bocce ball setup was a fun bonus.Inside, the garage was transformed into a game zone with a pool table and air hockey—great for rainy days. The availability of several bikes added another layer of fun, letting us explore the island at our own pace.This property truly has it all for a memorable getaway, whether you’re relaxing at the house or enjoying the beach. Highly recommended for families or groups looking for a blend of relaxation and fun.

Could be a 10/10 luxury stay

With a little TLC, this could be a 10/10 rental. Several kitchen cabinets were broken off the hinges, the overhead vent fan in the kitchen didn't work, the largest sofa was held up by wood 2x4 blocks so the couch slanted forward and we felt couldn't hold many people without breaking. Maybe a pot holder in the kitchen, a few more bath towels and more than 1 roll of extra toilet paper for 6 guests to stay are a sample of items that could make this place the star it could be. For example, a little more attention to detail to have sound bar and TV mounted evenly. Not a deal breaker on any of these items but added up it felt like we didn't quite get what we expected. We had an issue with the keys for the golf cart and beach but owner resolved quickly. We enjoyed our stay, loved the location and some amenities but for the price paid per night, not sure we would stay again. If those items were addressed, would be back again if in the area.

Just Don't!!!

We were so excited about staying with friends in this rental. When we entered the property the kids were so excited to all share a room. We quickly realised that for the price, this place was 1 NOT 5. When we pulled the sheet down on the main bed we found food scraps and hair 🤢 the windows and doors were filthy. The oven is so grubby that as soon as we opened the oven door the fire alarm went off which then made us realise the window in that area doesn’t even fit the window properly… the kitchen cutlery draw had crumbs all through it and the kids feet were black within 15 mins of entering the property. We reached out to the host who said it was clean. We responded it wasn’t and needed to be rectified. He said if we leave that day we could have a full refund. So we madly searched around and organised all 8 of us and the luggage and left for a resort. The owner then ghosted us and once we said we would proceed with requesting a refund through the bank he started sending impolite emails calling us scammers. Thankfully VRBO came through and sorted the refund once we provided his message saying…..If you would like to leave today, you will refunded100% of your stay. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.…. We find this so concerning and seriously wonder how there are so many positive reviews. So if you’re considering this property, please reconsider if you want a clean property and positive experience.

Perfect location and very pro-family oriented

We actually had a bachelorette “party” here. I say party loosely because we aren’t a roudy bunch compared to most parties but we did have a noise complaint midday. There’s a noise ordinance that starts at 10pm but I’d say most neighbors don’t want you being louder than a normal backyard BBQ. With that being said, the house and yard are absolutely beautiful and I would definitely consider staying here with family instead of a friend group that wants music while being in the pool. The house came with everything: washer/driver and a bit of detergent, dish soap, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, kitchen supplies, pillows, comfy beds, blankets, extra blankets, board games, gaming consoles, two TVs, yard games, pool and hot tub with beach towels, beach supplies like cooler and chairs and toys and plenty of seating. Best part, a 6 seater golf cart to drive around. That was so helpful since our group didn’t have a car. It really felt like the owner thought of everything a family would need for a great time in a beach town. The fridge wasn’t hooked up to water so we had to buy our own ice and bottled water. There were some spots on the floor that gave but there was always a rug on top of it so it wasn’t a tripping hazard. The hot tube also never got hot but that could have been user error. We did not spend much time trying to figure it out. Overall we had a blast and would recommend staying here for family vacations!

Nice Place & Great Location, a few concerns...

A lovely, clean home in a great location! Wonderful having a private entrance to the beach within walking distance! Nice having the golf cart & beach items available for use! Seemed there wasn’t much attention to detail between guests: coffee in the coffee pot, no cover on hot tub and no vacuum in pool (as binder stated there should be). Didn’t affect our stay but let the owner know in case it was negligence of someone being paid to care for the property between guests. More significant things: a broken golf cart seat handle, missing Wii motion detector, outdoor bowling ball nearly split in half and filled with water, & game table with 2 broken supports that hold it in place (not usable). Despite following directions (press the button on the remote), the hot tub would not heat up after the 1st night using the controls. Slight concern that since the front door code was printed in the binder, it is not changed from guest to guest. When messaging the owner about some of these, he/she either didn’t acknowledge them (smaller things) or kept referring us back to the binder, which was not helpful. Owner didn’t seek to understand the problem at all but used a condescending tone that felt like we were the problem & a nuisance. No tone of hospitality/helpfulness at all. We were later notified we were being charged for the golf cart handle (we had informed the owner of) and the bowling ball. We tried to not focus on the negative communication and really did enjoy our stay!

Rough week

This property looks great in photos. But as I look at them after visiting, I can see photos have been touched up. The owner her was quick to reply to me. He immediately addressed a small concern of mine and sent a blender to the house. I appreciated that. During our week long stay, the pool was unusable for 5 days. There was a raccoon pooping in the pool. The owner told me to scoop it out and it was fine to swim in it. We did not. I called him the next day and told him I wanted the pool cleaned and he told me that they do that on Friday (it was Tuesday). He did send someone to the house but he came with a pool net exactly like the one hanging on the fence. It was no help. The kitchen was filthy- an old cracker on the floor, disgusting trash can that was never wiped out, dirty dishes, floor, etc. There were crumbs in my daughter’s bed when she went to sleep the first night which made me wonder if any sheets had been washed. The door to the second bathroom did not latch. Not good for 4 adults sharing a bathroom. The shower faucet in the master bath is broken, the open style sink faucet was very dirty, there was a broken hook on the wall in the master bath. There were still stickers on the windows from purchase. Overall I feel this home was hurriedly redone to make money and attention to detail is severely lacking. In speaking with the owner, he parroted back my concerns but did not actually address them. In fact, he defended himself.

Terra Mar is a single family neighborhood located on an island on the northwest end of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. The neighborhood is located on an actual island with access for residents over a bridge and through a guard gate. Many of the residents have access to a private deeded beach club with a cabana, showers, grills, picnic tables and some pretty amazing shore diving.

This house is perfect for family vacation or romantic getaway! Island Time is only a five minute walk to the neighborhood’s private beach. You can also drive to the beach by car or our Golf Cart, and park for free in the beach club’s private lot. Terra Mar Island is a very clean, safe and well-maintained upscale neighborhood. Just a mile south of Pompano Beach, it is just 15-minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale. There are grocery stores, shops, watersports, restaurants, bars and nightlife, including the beautiful Lauderdale-by-the-Sea town center, all within 1-2 miles of the property. The very nearby Sea Ranch Lakes Plaza has a Publix Grocery store, a CVS drugstore, a Dunkin Donuts and several other shops and restaurants. Guests can drive, walk, get an Uber/Lyft or just hop on the Pelican Hopper Bus (the free town shuttle) to and from the local attractions.
