Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Dorothy & Ken, Thank you very much for the lovely time we had at the cozy cottage. We enjoyed it very much. The place is fantastic and you are very warm and kind people. The x-mas candies were a very pleasant (and delicious) surprise! Thank you for all the support and help with the snow...it was the most snow we have ever seen! Happy New Year!

We loved our stay at the cottage. It had everything we needed and more. It was very clean and comfortable. Even tho I didn't cook, the kitchen was well stocked.

Dorothy and Ken were great hosts. Will definitely return next Summer.

This cottage has everything you might need, even a small food processor. The cottage

equipment was well designed to meet all of your needs. The bed was very comfortable. Dorothy was very accommodating and friendly. The cottage provides easy access to a lot of hiking trails. If you forgot anything, Stewart's is within walking distance.

We absolutely loved Dorothy as she was so sweet and helpful! We chatted with her almost every evening for a few minutes to tell her about our hike and where we ate dinner! She gave us recommendations and directions for places we asked her about. The cottage is cozy but plenty big enough for two or three people. It has AC in the living room, tv, fridge etc It was convenient to get to everything from hiking trails, restaurants and big places like Lake Placid. We had my toy poodle furbabies with us and Dorothy was so welcoming and friendly with them so they loved her! The dogs did great on our two to four hour hikes daily! My fiancée, my sister, and I were there in summer and my sister and I want to go back in the Fall. It is a beautiful area and the cottage is the perfect place to stay if you don’t want to rough it camping but don’t want to go too upscale with an expensive hotel. I plan to go back to this cottage every time we go back for hiking. Great nearby restaurants are Big Slide and Lisa G’s we ate at both twice cuz they were so good! Loved every minute of this vacation!

We stayed here for two nights and had a great time, even in the rain. Dorothy is very nice and we enjoyed our conversation with her. She has the cottage stocked with everything you ever need to make your stay easy. Just bring food. We would definitely come back again.

Owner's Response: Hi Pat & Ron, I really enjoyed talking with you & Ron...even though we talked for a while, I felt that we could have talked for hours! Since you raved about Hawaii, I have suggested to my daughter that a trip to Hawaii would be niceI hope to see you again and maybe we can enjoy sitting around the chiminea with drinks...or go to the casino! Regards, Dorothy

Lake Placid visit

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. Dorothy was very nice. She came over to meet us and visit. Prior to our arrival she gave us excellent instructions in an email regarding the keys and so on. She had a few magazines with local attractions to visit. There is a convenience store two houses down that had groceries and ice cream. Every thing was in the cottage that we needed.
