This tranquil 3BD/2BA home is nestled in the trees on several acres in the Sangre de Cristo mountains at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac that backs to a large open greenbelt. The magnificent views stretch from the forest to towering mountain peaks and out to the wide open San Luis Valley.
Our 2 story home has 2 bedrooms upstairs (1 with queen, 1 with 2 twin beds), and 1 bedroom downstairs (queen). There are 2 bathrooms (one on each level) and the upstairs bath has a steam shower. It is a peaceful, beautiful home, nicely decorated, with an open floor plan and many outdoor areas to enjoy.
Sip your morning coffee on the downstairs deck watching deer wander through your backyard. In the evening, enjoy a glass of wine from the covered balcony, watching the sun set over the valley and the San Juan mountains. At night step out on the upstairs deck and have your breath taken away as you gaze at an infinity of stars above the mountain peaks. Later, take a steam shower and relax in front of the fire after cooking dinner in the open-floor plan gourmet kitchen.
Our home has everything you need to provide a relaxing, rejuvenating retreat, or to simply be your comfortable base camp from which to venture into the great outdoors.

We love the mountains and getting away from a busy life to recharge in nature.
The Owner purchased this house in 2005
The first time we each came to Crestone we were overwhelmed by the serenity and the beauty. It just felt right to have a retreat in this magnificent place.
The best thing is the quiet, the mountains stretching all around as far as the eye can see. It is wonderful to look out the window and see deer walking by. Sometimes I just want to sit in front of the fire watching the natural world go by, without leaving the house. It is always wonderful to arrive and difficult to leave.
We had a great trip and really enjoyed your house.
It is really really spectacular.
Loved the various balconies and patios to get several different angles at the mountain view. From the master the morning sunrise was breathtaking and the home had all the essentials to enjoy some snowed in time :)
Loved the house. David, the handyman, was very helpful in recommending places to see. The house was beautiful. We woke up to the most beautiful sunrises and even made a snowman. Thanks Michelle, we will definitely be back!
This lovely, well equipped home has two second floor open porches with magnificent views of both the valley and the mountains. The house was immaculate with comfortable beds with beautiful views from each bedroom and plenty of towels. The kitchen is well equipped with top of the line appliances. The house is well suited for families, three bedrooms sleep five comfortably or a couple looking for a romantic getaway.
The local town is very small with a tiny food store and an organic market. It would be a good idea to bring supplies with you. The new brewery restaurant in town served a nice menu of vegan and meat and fish offerings. Pizza can be had at the Bhutan restaurant. However, there are no other restaurants nearby.
The mountains, hiking trails are challenging, the wildlife abundant and visits to the spiritual centers are not to be missed, as well as the Great Sand Dunes National Park which is an hour drive.
I would highly recommend this home and would return to it while visiting family.
We stayed here for my nieces wedding and hosted the rehearsal dinner. It was the perfect place -felt like home well layed out flowed well for the party and the convection oven saved the day. Would definitely stay here again.
We two women stayed in the house while attending a yearly meditation retreat in Crestone. One stayed in the big bedroom upstairs and the other in a smaller bedroom downstairs. We used the small bedroom upstairs as a meditation room. We cooked alot in the well appointed kitchen and enjoyed the outdoor decks and patios with nice furnishings. A lovely place. Also Michelle was right on top of it with communications and directions. Thank you Michelle!
This was my second stay at Michelle's place. Last February, my boyfriend and I had a romantic weekend away there. This past week, I stayed two nights with my kids (ages 20, 16, and 13) while we were on a road trip through central Colorado. Both times it could not have been more perfect. If I had a vacation home of my own, I'd want it to be just like Michelle's.
Hope to stay there again someday soon!
