About the property

Hood Canal Waterfront view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt Rainier, and Mt Baker.

This Hood Canal vacation rental is a wonder to behold: Olympic National Park at your back door, and the Dosewallips Wildlife Estuary right in front. You'll see many birds native to the Pacific Northwest including bald and golden eagles, heron, geese, ducks and more. Orca whales, seals with their pups and river otter frequent the waters in front of you and from time to time the Brinnon Elk herd may visit the yard.

A new six-person jetted spa overlooking the water allows you to take it all in while relaxing in warmth and comfort. Large upper and lower decks provide a sweeping view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker. Private stairs to the beach with a large dock allow you to play, swim, fish or take the provided canoe out for a ride. At low tide, approximately 29 acres of pristine tide-lands.

Just a short walk down the road is the famous Geoduck Restaurant Lounge, voted #2 'Best Bars in the U.S.' by Esquire Magazine.

The just-remodeled home boasts an amazing 2,830 square feet of beautifully appointed living that can comfortably sleep up to 12 guests. The master bedroom stretches across the entire top floor of the home in a loft style. Additionally, we have outfitted the main floor with an upgraded queen-size sleeper sofa, and we offer a folding-style crib for those traveling with little ones.

We also offer a second waterfront 5 bedroom home in Brinnon. That new home is called Seal Rock and is 3 miles away from Nature's Paradise. The home sleeps 14 people comfortably in beds and is 3080 square feet. The dining room table seats 14 with 18 matching chairs. The Seal Rock home will be modeled after Nature's Paradise in amenities.

About Tammy Kreger

My husband and I bought this home in 2003 for the purpose of retiring early and living there. We're not ready to retire quite yet, and decided that we would really like to share this lovely home and the surrounding beauty with others!

I am proud and happy to say that I have lived in the Puget Sound area my entire life. One of my favorite pastimes is traveling. I have visited every continent, 60 different countries, and taken 44 cruises (so far!). Because I have spent so much time traveling, I truly have a good understanding of guests' needs and wants.

Even though I am happy to have seen so much of the world, I am always grateful to return to an area as gorgeous and diverse as the Pacific Northwest. I could choose anywhere in the world to retire to, but I have chosen Brinnon, Washington on Hood Canal for many reasons. Once you have visited this area, you will see why!

Tammy Kreger purchased this house in 2003

Why Tammy Kreger chose Hood Canal, Olympic Peninsula

I chose this particular property because of the outstanding sweeping view of Hood Canal and Dabob Bay. There is also a great view of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker.

My husband and I are big seafood fans and love all of the wonderful shellfish available to harvest near our home. We also like to take advantage of the private dock for setting out to shrimp, crab and fish.

We can't imagine a more beautiful environment to vacation in. It truly is 'Nature's Paradise!'; so we hope you'll come and enjoy it for yourselves!

What makes this house unique

The 29-acre privately-owned beach is fun to explore by foot (we provide rubber boots in many sizes). Explore the Dosewallips estuary by boat, you will probably see many seals, eagles, king fishers, osprey, etc. The tidelands also have many species of clams. Some of the best dungeness crabbing can be done directly in front of the home.

You are welcome to take the provided boat off the dock and put some crab pots in it to take out.You can simply paddle out a short distance and place the pots for fetching later in the day. My husband and I do so and catch our limits easily! Some of the best Hood Canal Spotted Shrimp are also caught in the waters in front of the home. Crabbing and Shrimp are seasonal.

It is also fascinating to watch the nuclear submarines practice in the waters out front of the home. Bird watching is another fun and relaxing experience from our 1,600 square-foot upper and lower decks, and from the dock.

The food resources available in the area are tremendous. Nearby there is clamming, oysters, crabbing, shrimping, sea run cutthroat fishing, salmon fishing, wild mountain blackberries, evergreen huckleberries, and mushrooms.

Often I enjoy watching the Brinnon Roosevelt elk herd graze in the Dosewallips pasture lands right from my decks. Sometimes the elk actually come to my yard and graze on my landscaping!

Wildlife Everywhere, Fantastic Home and Amenities!!

  • 5 of 5

My family have stayed a Nature's Paradise many times and never tire of seeing elk, eagles, king fishers, seals, etc. right from the house. This is our home away from home, everyone is so comfortable in this large, well maintained, clean home. We love walking on the beach, spending time in the jetted spa, hiking in the Olympic Nat'l Forest, and relaxing. This home feels like you are a million miles away from the city but is actually quite close to Seattle. We can't wait for our next stay, every time of year is great.

A Home true to its name

  • 5 of 5

Nature's Paradise was true to its name: a beautiful home with many extras provided by Tammy to make our stay a treasure! From clear instructions a& communications to elegant touches of goodies & welcoming notes to homegrown garlic & a treat for the dog - we felt welcomed and coddled! The views from Tammy's lovely home were extraordinary: seals, eagles, elk, hummingbirds, etc! We hope to return for another visit in the future.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you felt right at home at Nature's Paradise. The Brinnon elk herd are a thrill to see. They can be seen quite often from our decks, dock, or beach. It is so fun to see lots of eagles (bald and golden), plenty of hummingbirds, osprey, kingfisher, seals, etc. right from our home or jetted spa. We are happy that you enjoyed our extra touches. We can't wait to have your nice family back for another stay. Thank you, Tammy

Had a lovely weekend watching wildlife, hiking waterfalls, and enjoying the peaceful views. We did a lot of cooking and were glad to see the kitchen had everything we needed. It's also nice that they provide tools for clamming and crabbing.

Overall a really great spot!

Pictures don't do this place justice. Fabulous house and PNW experience.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for 3 nights in mid-September for a birthday weekend with friends and family. The location of the house if very easy to get to from the Seattle area. There are breathtaking views of a tidal plain in the Hood Canal. At low tide, you can see salmon jumping, seals, bald eagles, elk, etc in large numbers right from the porch. At high tide, it all disappears and you can kayak right from the house stairs. It was a wonderful variety to enjoy from land and sea. The living area is large and open which was great for our group (10-12 adults and a baby and dog) to share meals and relaxation activities. There is a beautiful fire pit (no use from us due to the current burn ban) and a hot tub. Easily parked 5 cars. More could be parked but not without blocking others. The bed room set up is one very large lofted master on the upper floor with full bath (open to living area below), one larger bedroom with king bed on first floor and full bath, and 3 bedrooms in basement with either 2x twins or pushed together twins to form king set up with another full bath. The bedrooms in the basement could be a little chilly but there are in wall adjustable heaters in each room that kept everything toasty. There is also a pull out couch in the first floor living room which was what you would expect. Some nice things about this rental compared to other homes we've rented are: extra full fridge/freezer in basement, full size kitchen equipment, full size and modern washer/dryer, DVD player with decent movie selection, glass topped furniture, dog bed, and supplies for enjoying the beach/clamming/crabbing. Overall, we would definitely stay here again and everyone was very happy!

Owner's Response: We are surprisingly close to Seattle even though we feel very remote. The diverse views are amazing. When the tide is out you can see the Dosewallips Estuary. Our tide-lands attract a lot of wildlife and birds. It is fun to relax on the decks, jetted spa, and dock and see the Brinnon elk herd. You will sometimes see a lot of bald and golden eagles, osprey, kingfisher, seals, otters, hummingbirds, etc. During part of the year you can see salmon swimming in the water from our decks or dock. We have a comfortable house for larger or smaller groups. It is fun to have a camp fire in our water view fire pit and roast some marsh mellows. At the end of a busy day it is fun to unwind in our water view jetted spa. The bedroom setup options are a crowd pleaser, in bedroom three and four you can choose a king sized bed or two extra long twin sized beds. Some of my groups like girls and boy groups would prefer not sharing a bed with another person. The extra full size fridge is so much better than using coolers and worrying about having enough ice. Our guests really enjoy our amenities to be able to harvest oysters,, clams, crab, etc. We are glad that everyone was happy in your group. We will look forward to welcoming you back for your next stay. Thank you, Tammy

What a view! Super cozy

  • 4 of 5

What a view! Super cozy. We felt very at home. The beds were so comfortable! Everything you would need to stay for a family reunion is there. Great location too.

The only complaint I have, is that the boats were too difficult for us to put into the water. We had really looked forward to fishing for salmon with our two grandsons, but we had to go rent a boat instead.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you enjoyed our amazing view so much. Also pleased that you felt right at home. We are happy to provide high quality mattresses and high thread count bedding, we want our guests to be very comfortable and sleep soundly on their vacation. I am sorry to hear that you had trouble taking the boats off the dock and putting them in the water. You mentioned to me that your husband had health issues that made it hard for him to take the stairs. That left you and your young grandson's to put the boats in the water. We are sorry that you had difficulty. You had mentioned that you would like to come back for another stay with your siblings. We will look forward to your next stay with us. Thank you, Tammy
