Perfect Vacation Home at the Lake

  • 5 of 5

The listing was accurate - even though the pictures are beautiful we were still surprised on how spacious and clean everything was. In the beginning of the week we had 7 adults, 2 children and a pekingese and then it was just my husband, I and our dog. At no time did we feel crowded - the kitchen is a wonderful size for several cooks, the deck has so much seating we could have invited the neighborhood and there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The home is decorated nicely and contained absolutely everything you could want or need.

Kathy was a wonderful host and made sure that everything was just perfect.

Wish we could have stayed longer ... maybe next time!

Great place, even in winter

  • 5 of 5

We have been gathering as a family (7 adults, 2 children) for the last few years for a few days between Christmas and New Years. This is one of the nicest places we have stayed in. Plenty of space, good beds, comfortable furniture, beautiful bathrooms. No dining room table, but there was enough room for the folding tables we found in the basement closet. The long, narrow winding drive might prove challenging in normal, snowy weather - dry for our stay. We walked to the lighthouse every day.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time during our stay at the Owl's Perch. The house was spacious and incredibly clean. It was a quick walk to the beach, pier, and lighthouse. I would highly recommend this house to any family. It easily accommodates up to fourteen people.

What can we say? The "Owls perch" was more than we could have hoped for!!! walk 1 block to the beach to watch the sunset every day over the lake. While it was 90-100 degrees in Chicago we didn't even have the air conditioning on! The lake breezes were wonderful on top of the hill! The accommodations were outstanding. We had 3 couples, for a week each couple had their own space, actually their own floor with their own bathrooms!! The place was absolutely spotless everything was brand new and it seems as though no expense was spared in the remodel. We were as comfortable there as we were at home. Granite counters, stainless steel appliances, huge deck with brand new gas grill. We didn't want to leave!! Never knew how beautiful Holland Michigan was. Great place our only regret was that we didn't book it for two or three weeks instead of just one!!!! We will definitely be back next time longer!!!

Summer Birthday Retreat

  • 5 of 5

What a relaxing vacation! The spacious cottage was extremely clean and comfortably furnished. We especially appreciated the well-appointed kitchen! The area up on the hill was extremely quiet and picturesque with mature trees sheltering the huge deck -- a great place for evening cocktails after a day in the sun and water. We can't say enough about the private beach... The fishing off the pier was great too!
