About Melanie Kearney

My husband and I purchased and updated this beach house for our family of 5 to enjoy when we aren't renting it to other families. We have equipped the house with all the amenities we love in a beach house, and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Melanie Kearney purchased this house in 2012

Why Melanie Kearney chose Gulf Shores

We fell in love with Little Lagoon while vacationing here, and are thrilled to have the opportunity to build memories with our children in our little bit of paradise.

What makes this house unique

We love the boathouse and pier! The fishing is great, and the lagoon waters are perfect for swimming, crabbing, kayaking, boating, and skiing. When we're ready for waves and surf, the beach is an easy walk away.

Best R&R Vacation in Years

  • 5 of 5

Last year we rented a beachfront house. Nice, but too close to other houses for a moment's peace. This year we decided to try the lagoon side. Fabulous! Enjoyed bocce on the lawn and swinging at the end of the pier. Screened porch was lovely for meals and we made a couple of visits to the seafood market around the corner for grouper, shrimp, crabcakes and crabclaws. Loved the location and the single-level layout. I took hundreds of photos...sunsets, gulls, herons...

Wholeheartedly recommend!

Great house! Great location!

We really enjoyed our stay on little Lagoon. The house exceeded our expectations. Our boys fished every morning & every free moment they had during our stay. The sunsets from the porch swing on the dock were amazing each evening.

We have rented several houses on the Lagoon in the past, this was by far the BEST. Very clean, and very well decorated. Wonderful location. The pier was enjoyed by all. We even caught enough crabs for a meal! Wonderful place.

What you see is what you get .it's beautiful and roomy

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were celebrating our 42 years of marriage with our children and we could not ask for a better place than the beach house .it is a beautiful house and it had everything you needed from cooking to having fun on the private pier. We brought a boat and a wave runner and was able to leave them in the water our whole stay plus there was enough room at the house to keep our trailers. We would like to thank ms Melanie for a wonderful week.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This place was exceptional. You walk in and feel like you are at home. Everything you need is there for you. The pier and lagoon were awesome. We fished and crabbed right from the pier they had poles and traps for you to use and we swam in the lagoon. We took the short walk to the beach and had a great time. They have beach chairs and umbrella there for your convenience and boogie boards and some blow up floats. We cooked out on the grill one night and of course made s'mores. Another day we did a shrimp boil, we purchased the shrimp from the market that is located just a short block and a half away. There is also a really good restaurant there and a store that has everything you could possibly need. The place is great and the view of the lagoon is beautiful. Gorgeous sunsets, very peaceful to sit on the pier in the mornings and evenings and if you don't want to walk out on the pier you can sit in a porch swing under the house or sit on the deck. The screened in porch was a great place to sit also. My mom would sit on the deck of a morning once the sun moved overhead she would move into the screened porch and by afternoon she was sitting on the balcony on the front of the house reading. This place was very roomy and comfortable for Grandma, and the kids 19, 15 and 9 and my husband and myself. It is off the main road so it is quit and very relaxing. We are already planning on returning next summer. I have shared this property with several friends and I hope they will rent it and enjoy it as much as we did. The owner was great to communicate with and answered all my questions.
