About Troy Snow
My husband and I live on the Property that we rent out year round. We take pride in our properties and are responsive to any of our renters needs. Since we are on property, we deal with our guests directly – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between. All of our properties are fully furnished and have all the amenities of home!
Why Troy Snow chose Bryson City
We purchased this property because of the history. These cabins were used to house the men that were to build the road from Tennessee to North Carolina in 1943. In 1945 the city of Fontana was flooded. The flooding of this road & subsequent loss of access would become a major controversy that has still not been settled over 50 years later .In the late 1980's & early 1900's many of the cabins were sold & removed from Fontana to make room for new units; dozens of the little cabins are scattered around Western North Carolina today. I'm happy to say we have a little piece of American History. These cabins are A-6 & were built by Schultz Trailers, Inc. of Eckhard, Indiana. The road today is Fontana Road aka "The Road to No Where".
What makes this Cabin unique
We chose this property because of the quiet, quaint area & the history of it.

Just what we needed
My bf and I were looking to go to the mountains to get away for the Memorial Day weekend. The cabin was just the right size for the two of us and our small dog. Quiet and peaceful. As with another review I read about the small water heater, it does seem to be small but is definitely do able. About 10 minutes from Smokey Mountain State Park. The town of Bryson City was nice to see also.
Very nice place and the location is great. Tony was very nice to talk to.
Thank you for the review! And hope to see y’all again! Troy Snow
Best getaway ever!!
The cabin was so cozy and relaxing I didn’t want to leave!! The bed was very comfy but I couldn’t make it past the couch. I cooked a couple meals and drove a couple miles for some fantastic food!
This is going in my bookmarks.
Good place to stay near the GSMNP!
If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to stay during your trip to the GSMNP, consider Ian's Getaway.
Troy is a friendly and helpful host. The cabin is clean, and close to Bryson City, which we found is a wonderful to visit at Christmastime.
The outdoor decor on the inside was enjoyable. The bed was comfortable. Both the kitchen and the bathroom were clea. And the refrigerator and freezer were spotless.
We loved how close this was to the park, too - both the Deep Creek area and the Oconaluftee entrance.
We did wish the cabin had a larger water heater. There were three of us (two adults and one toddler), and this meant pretty short showers, and/or turning water off while soaping up. We learned to work around it, but it would be nice to not have to.
Nevertheless, we'd definitely stay here again!
Needed a little break from all the Christmas rush. Great place to relax. convenient to National Park and Cherokee.
Nantahala has awesome white water rafting as well as The Tuckasegee River. A must see is the Oconaluftee Indian Village, if you get there at the right time you will see Elk! Mingo Falls in Cherokee. Unto These Hills - is an outdoor drama about the Cherokee Indians, very interesting!
