Rhinebeck is a charming and historic, yet cosmopolitan town, mid point between New York City & Boston (less than 2 hours from either city). With the Culinary Institute of America in the next town over, (Hyde Park), there are many excellent restaurants in the small town of Rhinebeck. There are also numerous boutiques, cafes, quaint stores, and the Haven Spa. Within 15 miles, there are 2 different State Parks, with lakes, beaches and hiking trails. Burger Hill, less than 2 miles from the house, provides beautiful views of the surrounding mountains in the warm months. In the winter, Burger Hill boasts epic sledding at various elevation levels- good for young children as well as thrill seeking adults. Approximately 1 hour from the house are two ski resorts; 1. Butternut and 2. Cattamount.

Rhinebeck is a 10 minute drive from Kingston with all of the big box retailers, movie theaters, etc. The house is 2 miles from a Super Stop n Shop as well as the Northern Dutchess Hospital. The house is also less than 2 miles from the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, which hosts year round events, most notably the Dutchess County Fair held in late August.

Amazing summer get-away!

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent a whole month at the house this summer, and we had the most wonderful time. With 3 small kids, and the set up could not be better - the place is made for families. House is in great condition and comes fully equipped with bunk bed, crib, pack&play, play room, toys, childproof plates, cups, utensils, etc. Open living-space with bright kitchen that has just about any tool you could want for cooking. Biggest plus is the amazing garden, which is quite large with even-surface lawn, trampoline, monkey bars, slides, swings, fire-pit, and of course the amazing pool (very large, diving board, heated).

Location of the house is great - 5min into town, <10min to Rhinecliff train station (the various Rhinebeck taxi services can take you to the house), <5min to nearest super market, farm stand, gas station. Lastly, Natalie was a great host - easy communications, quick to respond, extremely helpful with questions about the house and the area.

Amazing House, Adorable Town

  • 5 of 5

Six of us adults rented this house with two kids and one baby for a long weekend out of NYC, and everyone loved it! The house itself is awesome – very nice and comfortable – and the grounds are unbelievable. It's just as good as the pictures, if not better. So well-equipped too – there was a playroom for the kids filled with toys, books and arts & crafts supplies; everything we needed for group dinners around the large dining table; crib (with firm mattress) and high chair for our baby; wood to make a fire at night in the fireplace room (where we drank wine and played board games after the kids went to bed); basic supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, etc.; and they even had a Poland Spring water dispenser, which was much appreciated. The kids loved the large trampoline and swing set, and everyone had a great time playing in the saltwater pool. There was very comfortable patio furniture with giant umbrellas to lounge in the shade by the pool when we needed a break from the sun.

The town of Rhinebeck is super cute too – lots of great shops and restaurants. We moms even escaped for a yoga class at a beautiful studio. By the end of the weekend, we were all saying that we want to move there!

Finally, the owner of the house, Natalie, was great to work with – took the time to answer all of my questions and responded very quickly. We definitely hope to be able to rent this house again in the future!

As always, a wonderful, relaxing stay

Our third stay so far and we already can't wait to come back. Spotlessly clean, everything thought of to make your stay comfortable. A perfect mix of feeling like you're on vacation and feeling "at home". Gracious hosts to boot!

Perfect weekend getaway.

  • 4 of 5

This is the second year that our group of knitters rented this cozy home for the festival weekend. We have progressively spent more time at the house than at the festival due to the comfortable communal spaces and great kitchen for preparing our shared meals. Our annual foray has become a wonderfully nurturing experience for everyone! In addition, it is a pleasure working with the owners.

The Perfect Family Friendly Country Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at this home and we thank Natalie for her hospitality and local area recommendations! We went for an apple picking weekend and a birthday celebration with three children (3 & 4 years old) and we all had a blast! It is a perfect house for young children, they didn't want to leave! Natalie, they want to thank your children "for sharing their great toys and books" ;) We had everything we needed in the house, nine of us fit comfortably at the dinner table, in the family room, and the sleeping arrangements were perfectly accommodating for all of us. We would definitely return!
