About Debra Rifkin
After 26 years of exercising fish the owner spends most of his time Peach farming and keeping local critters and peach thieves out!
Debra Rifkin purchased this House in 1988
Why Debra Rifkin chose Warm Springs
This may be a fishing cabin to the owner but it's a very comfortable three bedroom home with original Indian art, masks, handmade Chimayo Indian furniture and N.W. Indian artifacts. A private road and surrounded by the Warm Springs Indian Reservation keeps this property well hidden. Juniper and sage smells enhance the air, natural geologic views and rushing water at your footsteps make this property unique in North America. It is a true Paradise!
What makes this House unique
The weather. If you are from the west side of the Cascades be prepared for a shock, lots of sunshine and only a few inches of rain each year and just 100 miles from Portland. The Madras area is relatively undiscovered by most except for the popular Cove Palisades Park just up river from our home. Fishing or relaxing on a quiet, peaceful setting on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Lower Deschutes River. It's all yours with no river traffic just the Osprey and Herons flying by. With the only peach orchard on the immediate east side of the Cascade Mountains at your doorstep, you might wake up with a fresh peach on your cereal.

Outstanding venue with everything you need
House is extremely welll kept and the view of the river is gorgeous. Excellent place to relax and take nature in. The owners our very kind and generous, giving you all the information you need.
My husband and I spent 3 nights at VRBO 445850 and loved it. The house has three bedrooms and two baths. The living room/dining room face the river. The huge deck is right on the river. Birds and the river are the only sounds we heard. Ed was there when we arrived and offered us kayaks, inner tubes, and a bike. My husband fished, but honestly we spent most of our time on the deck -- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's only 15 minutes from Madras if you need anything. Great place!! Marilyn and David
Holidays on the river
We rented this house over the Christmas holidays and had a wonderful time. We had 4 adults and 2 children in our party and everyone had a great experience.
The bedrooms are all comfortable. The kitchen is better stocked than mine at home. And the living spaces are large and comfortable with amazing views. Be on the lookout for the bald eagles!
The owners are very attentive and helped us right away with the questions that we had.
Home away from Home
Our family stayed here for a weekend and we loved it! Being so close to the river was so nice for our kids who love anything outdoors. The owner was so nice and offered the kayaks for us to use. He sent us home with peaches from his trees and overall was very accommodating and generous! We will definitely be looking into staying here again. It was truly a home away from home and actually hard to leave.
Beautiful Home on the River
We stayed with two other couples and had a great time in the home. The guys fly fished, the ladies cooked , visited a nearby lavender farm and relaxed. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely! So much amazing artwork we joked about having a trivia contest at the end to test each other to make sure we had seen it all!
Perfect Getaway Home
My husband, daughter, family friend and I escaped to spend 3 nights at this lovely home. We spent most of our time on the back deck enjoying the rushing river and the wildlife (we saw a fisher - a little martin like creature - by the island off the yard) and birds (the osprey in the nest in the front yard always screeched when we went to the car) Way too many birds to list!
The rooms were comfortable and eclectically furnished with Indian furiture and mounted animal heads. The kitchen was well stocked with professional cookware and appliances which made feeding everyone easier. My daughter loved using one of the two nice grills on the deck.
Best of all, the owner met us there and showed us around and answered all our questions. He even lent us some personal items, like the Suburban out front to use to ferry back water craft after floating down river. The only item that was not great was the poor cell reception which required occasional trips out of the valley to make calls.
We loved it there and hope to be back soon!
Beautiful rock basalt formations, fly fishing and rafting right out your door. Watch Ospreys all day from deck. Wild horses can often be seen across the river and up the canyon hillside. We have two resident eagles and a large buzzard rookery across the river. Spring and winter guests can watch the PGE and Indian biologist collecting salmon and steelhead a short walk up river.
