About Dave McKay

I love the out doors and this property is in the center of outdoor adventure. No crowds here! The only business in town that is open is the Shell station down by the interstate. This is a GHOST TOWN !

Dave McKay purchased this mobile home in 2012

Why Dave McKay chose Thompson

Peace and quite! wild life! Indian art 3 miles up the canyon! Hidden treasure trove of Dino tracks . Beautiful cliff trails that can be driven by atv or in some cases, car! Antelope herds travel through Town! Spectacular Trails!

What makes this mobile home unique

I rode out of town July 3 2012 on my atv and rode all the way to Arizona ( 504 miles one way!) Never crossed private property!!! Saw antelope and buffalo herds on the way!

Clean Little Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very easy to get to and very clean. The bedrooms, kitchen/living area, and the bathroom were all spotless. The air conditioning worked great - especially for the high 80 degree weather outside. There were also fans in both bedroom areas. Paper towels, trash bags, soap, and toilet paper were provided, which was nice as other VRBO properties I have stayed at I have had to purchase these items on my own. The internet never worked for us, but I have AT&T and had service the whole time. There was a number to call the Host if there were internet issues, but this wasn't really a problem for my party so we never called. The cabin is about 30 mins from Moab/Arches National Park, but was a super easy, scenic drive to Moab. The loft has steep stairs with a short ceiling (you can't stand up, but can sit on the bed) so if you are someone that has trouble going up stairs/back problems I would not plan on sleeping in the loft area. We did not use the pull out sofa, but the bedroom and loft area had nice mattresses and decent pillows. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend and stay here again if returning to Moab.

Cute place, quiet location

  • 5 of 5

We were four adults traveling through the Utah national parks. The cabin was small but with an efficient layout. The loft had a low ceiling, but who cares when you're sleeping?! We had the tallest member of our group sleeping up there with no issue.

Check-in was a breeze. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning kept the place cool on a 100-degree day, and we cooked a meal in the well-stocked kitchen. The WiFi was a bit slow, but it was OK for checking email and reading the news over morning coffee (which was also provided!). We would stay here again.

Beyond my wildest expectations

  • 5 of 5

My biggest regret is not booking here longer! This place was cozy and cute and perfect for two girls who'd spend the day hiking in Arches National Park. We were able to sleep separately, but at an affordable price! I woke up early in the morning to sit in the rocking chair, drink my coffee, and watch the sun rise over the beautiful mountains. The place was immaculate and I highly recommend. I hope I'm able to visit again sometime! Definitely worth it.
