About Dave McKay

I love the out doors and this property is in the center of outdoor adventure. No crowds here! The only business in town that is open is the Shell station down by the interstate. This is a GHOST TOWN !

Dave McKay purchased this mobile home in 2012

Why Dave McKay chose Thompson

Peace and quite! wild life! Indian art 3 miles up the canyon! Hidden treasure trove of Dino tracks . Beautiful cliff trails that can be driven by atv or in some cases, car! Antelope herds travel through Town! Spectacular Trails!

What makes this mobile home unique

I rode out of town July 3 2012 on my atv and rode all the way to Arizona ( 504 miles one way!) Never crossed private property!!! Saw antelope and buffalo herds on the way!

very quiet little town of 40 people next to the property. a ghost town and petroglyphs are just up the road. Moab is 30 minutes away. Our only complaint is that the WiFi did not work.

Great little Home away from Home

  • 4 of 5

This place served a a wonderful base for my Brother, Wife, and I for 3 days of exploring the Great outdoors of Moab, Arches NP, and Canyon lands NP. Being about a 40 Min drive away from any of them means you don't have to deal with the insanity of trying to stay closer to the parks. Nice and quiet and extremely comfortable.

Comfortable, Clean, Perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over Thanksgiving break and had a wonderful experience. We even stayed an extra night! Check in and out was a breeze. Sam and Dave were helpful with our questions. The Birdhouse was as advertised. Very clean and comfortable. Our daughter enjoyed the loft area; however it is short. Adults can't stand up in it. The appliances and kitchen equipment were new and clean. The swings outside were nice to relax in while barbecuing. I would definitely recommend and we will be back when exploring the Arches, Canyonlands area.

Adorable cabin at the base of mountains

  • 5 of 5

We loved being able to come home to our own little place after a day of exploring Arches National Park. The location was also great because it put us right on 70 so we could continue on to Bryce Canyon. Had a great stay!

Fun 'Small House' feel.

  • 5 of 5

Didn't really spend much time there.

Great talking to hosts' and getting local highlights.

Moab and parks beautiful. Not enough daylight to see everything.

Roomy and Well Equipped

  • 4 of 5

The photos of this accommodation are accurate, although one might get the impression from them that it is in an isolated location. The fact is, the unit is in an RV Park and during our stay there were RV's parked on either side of us. We enjoyed sitting in the swing outside but the view of the side of the next RV became a little boring. (we are not RV Travelers). This was however just a minor inconvenience. The unit itself is exactly as advertised, roomy, clean and quiet and the price was right. It had everything that we required for our two night stay. It's location made for a short drive to The Arches National Monument. The Wifi was a little spotty during the evening when other travelers were around but all in all this accommodation was comfortable and good value for the money.
