Great House near Sea World

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is very clean and well maintained. It had everything that we were looking for in a place to stay for a few nights to visit Sea World. The location was easy to get to and was near many restaurants, HEB, and just 5-10 minutes from Sea World. Mia was great to work with and checked in on us.

Great homie little cottage

It was a great little cottage. Comfortable quiet neighborhood. Our group had a good time. It’s in a nice area where you can reach groceries or little shopping areas. Beds were super comfortable. All 6 of us enjoyed ourselves

Sister’s getaway

We had originally planned this getaway for 2020, but Covid postponed it for a couple of years. We were given credit for what we had put down. It was lovely to be in warmer weather, as we live in Minnesota. San Antonio is a great place to go, and we had some great food. Our house was organized, but not super clean. We kept a blanket on the couch at all times to sit on top of. We did call and someone came over to mow the lawn, and we washed down the chairs and table outside.

Great house!

Mia is a great hostess with crystal-clear communication and that is always appreciated. The house is clean (very important to me as I own and operate a cleaning business and my standards are very high). The furnishings were adequate, beds comfortable, water pressure in both showers very good. There was an adequate amount of dishes and cookware for our party of four. If there are more of you than four, you may want to pick up paper plates. If you've rented from VRBO before then you likely know that some homes have shampoo and bath soap, storage bags, aluminum foil, etc. This property has none of that but Walmart is just around the corner so those items were very easy to procure. The neighborhood is older but very charming and we never once felt unsafe. For the money and location, we highly recommend this property.

Nice, Clean, Comfortable Home

We were very comfortable staying at this property. The house was beautiful, clean and spacious for the 5 of us. The neighborhood was nice and quiet as well. As the first ones staying in this house, we felt like we were staying in a brand new home. Of course, with that said, there are many items/furnishings that could be further added to this place that would make it even more pleasant and convenient. This has already been communicated to the owner. However, what was already in the home was sufficient for our stay. The washer and dryer was definitely a plus for us since our trip included numerous hikes in the neighboring national park areas! The property has a decent sized back yard and if there were outdoor furniture available, we would even consider eating outdoors at times! ^_^ Mia, the owner, was very accommodating and was easily accessible whenever we needed to get a hold of her. The house is close to the grocery store, as well as many shopping areas. So getting resources was never a problem. Six Flags and Sea World are also closeby. There are also hiking trails nearby Government Canyon State Natural Area. We would have loved to explore that area but our itinerary was tight and couldn't fit it in. The Alamo is no more than a 20 minute drive from the house as well. We would most likely book this place again should we ever return to the San Antonio area. Thanks for the wonderful stay, Mia! In town for Christmas lights at SeaWorld (12/13-12/15)

As the title states, our family popped in from Houston to spend a Saturday at SeaWorld for the Christmas shows and lights. It's a very quick drive - less than 15 minutes - to SeaWorld. In general the house was very well kept and equipped. I gave four stars for cleanliness only because there are some parts of the kitchen that could use a deep cleaning, and a few of the cookware pieces needed cleaning. The high-legged table in the dining area had two very wobbly legs that really prevented us from using it, but we let Mia know about it, and just ate elsewhere in the house. There was plenty of serving ware for six people (there were only four of us) if necessary. Be aware, this house is in a residential neighborhood, and there was a pretty good backyard party going late on the Saturday we were there, with their lighting shining pretty well into the back of the house. Not much can be done about this - again, it is a residential neighborhood and probably doesn't happen every weekend. Furniture and beds were very comfortable, plenty of linens and towels were available. I would suggest less sheer curtains for the bedrooms though, as they currently let in a decent amount of light. Blinds, in addition to the current curtains, would be a good alternative as well. There are two HEBs, a Target, and a Walmart nearby, as well as a dozen or so chain-type restaurants within easy driving distance. Plenty of TV options for a night in, with a Roku including Netflix and Sling TV. Back yard is equipped with a nice patio with picnic table and large grill. Evidently there are outdoor speakers and party lighting in back, but we did not utilize those. A two minute drive or a five minute jog away is the northern trailhead for the Helotes Creek Greenway. There is parking available, as well as a water tap for the pups. It is a paved, well marked hike/bike path and runs a bit over two miles point-to-point through a low forested drainage, with scrub vegetation native to the area, and ties into Culebra Creek Park. Mia is very responsive to communications sent her way and we would not hesitate to stay here again should the need arise.

Good for what we needed

The house is exactly as depicted in the pictures. Suited our needs as we just needed a place to sleep. The plumbing wasn’t set up properly for the washer and there were knats coming out of the main bathtub. I could forgive the outdoor insects that swarmed the front door at night because I’m sure that was normal for the location.

Don’t stay..!!! YOU CAN DO BETTER

Area is below middle class, run down , old broken down cars all around parked on the streets , we walked in and right off the bat the smell off a sewer hit us in the face , we ran right out and called the host , when I told her , her response was … hmmm , my cleaning lady just left and she didn’t say anything to me… so that tells you right there if the cleaning lady didn’t think that was a big deal she needs to remove the title of cleaning and just call her a lady , she then said she would have a maintenance person come out in the morning because it was too late..Sunday 8:00pm , we wanted to leave but didn’t want to lose $800 , so I told her I was going to Walmart to buy air fresheners and scented candles , we masked the smell some what , but suffered with the smell of sewer, morning came and went before she text me at noon saying the maintenance person was outside , found out it was the washer causing the smell , she put a cleaner in and told me let them know if it fixed the problem later when it ran it’s course , it helped but didn’t take it away totally , so 2nd night sleeping in the sewer smell in the whole house , I bought ammonia and poured it in the washer late that night and killed the smell, the next day I complained and she said she would refund the $150 cleaning fee which is respectful , but I responded with that I had spent $45 on scented candle$ , air fresheners, fabreze and ammonia so your really only giving me back $105 , I said I think I deserved the cleaning fee obviously because the cleaning lady missed the smell of sewer and 2 nights of my stay the we suffered through the smell , she would not do it , had issues with the internet and cable for hours, tv said account needed attn , couldn’t watch anything , silverware had old stuck on food..gross! And if you look at the track of the window over the sink from inside , it’s filled with dead bugs and lots off dirt and dust, bathroom carpets are dirty and nasty, bought towels and laid them over them , fridge door doesn’t close very well unless you really push it , so our Mille ruined and drinks stood warm if we didn’t double check it , island counter top has a narrow entry to the master bedroom between that and the fridge and I know it’s a stupid complaint and if you stay you’ll understand, but I kept scraping my arm on the pointy edge coming in and out , have the scare to prove it,terrible hazard for kids, could take an eye out… so my review…YOU CAN DO WAY BETTER..DONT STAY.!!!!!!!

We were unable to find a smell as this guest described. We did our best to address the concerns and we have never had a guest complain prior to this stay or after. We do regularly clean our washing machines with the cleaning cycle. It was the only slight smell we could find at the time. This seemed to solve the problem and we did our best to accommodate this guest. Internet issues have been resolved and were resolved quickly for this guest. But as we have learned, you can not make everyone happy.

Pictures was deserveing. Dirty dishes in dishwasher Coffee pot didn't work. Only could use sling or netflex on tv but code wasn't provided. It would have been nice to have local channels due to storms. Would not recommend this house to snyone

I will be back!

Only complaint was the internet was slow, but made it work with hotspots. I felt like I was at home as soon as I got to the house. The host made it very easy and communication was great. I can’t wait to return.
