About Ann&Tom Petersen
We are long-time cabin owners on a nearby island.
Ann&Tom Petersen purchased this Cabin in 2012
Why Ann&Tom Petersen chose Tower
We knew the previous long-time owner of this property. Several of our family members worked for them over the years, helping with the island garden. Remnants of the gardens are still there, although they are getting overgrown. This cabin was used as his family's guest cabin. It was handcrafted by another Island resident's father in the late 1950's. Our daughter was greatly influenced by this family and they were helpful and encouraging, helping her choose her career. It then came into the family ownership and was used privately until Grandpa couldn't manage island life.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin feels romantic- sorry fisherman- but it does! The quiet surroundings, the tall pines, the lake lapping softly at the rocks on the shore. The haunting calls of the loons just make all your cares disappear. Island living isn't for everyone, it is a unique way of life.

Cozy & Inviting
We loved our stay at this awesome cabin. Even though it rained almost every day we enjoyed the Eagles, loons, ducks! The cabin is equipped with everything we needed & was so clean & organized. The owner kept in contact with us to be sure we had everything we needed. The lake view was superb! Thanks for such and enjoyable stay!!
The cabin was adorable and very welcoming. It had everything we needed for a perfect getaway!
The cabin was clean and very well put together. We will definitely be back :)
We love coming to this cabin! It's a 2 minute boat ride from the landing, in a beatiful cove,(so your not so affected by the weather), the fishing is great all around the island so you don't have to travel far, and it has all the comforts that you need. It's perfect for a relaxing time @ the lake.
Tom & Ann, your cabin is great! Thanks for renting it out and sharing it for others, Vermillion is a great lake!

Very nice cabin
The cabin was very nice and had everything needed. It was fun to explore a new part of Lake Vermilion for us. We found a very nice sand beach day use area and spent time skiing, tubing and swimming. It was pretty busy at the landing and on the water Saturday when we arrived but it calmed down from Sunday on. The island is a short boat ride from the landing and it's no big deal to get all your items over. We brought way too much stuff.
If you like to fish for musky you can't go wrong renting this cabin. We took a boat cruise Saturday afternoon checking out Frazer Bay, Daisy Bay and Big Bay. I was quickly able to put together a milk run of musky spots by noting where other anglers were casting. Over the course of 5 days I had about 12 different muskies in the figure eight. I had one big one on that got off. Not bad for a few hours a day musky fishing. We caught walleye, smallmouth, largemouth and bluegills.
Cute little cabin with everything we needed! Owners were great to work with!
We enjoyed spending a long weekend at the cabin, we were able to do a little fishing, sit by a campfire and just leisure boating around Lake Vermilion.
This cabin has an air conditioner, but with all the windows and cool evenings we chose not to use it. There is also a small fireplace, but again, not needed.
If weather isn't cooperating, there are plenty of board games and a television. If you forgot anything, the cabin isn't far from a couple convenient stores.
Really, this cabin has everything we hoped for, we will definitely be visiting Lake Vermilion again.
Thank you Tom and Ann!
Lake Vermilion is one of the most beautiful lakes in the country, according to National Geographic Magazine. This cabin was hand-crafted and recently brought back to life. It served as the guest cabin for the long-time owner. It is quiet, tucked away into the hill surrounded by massive pine trees, it has been described as elegant and charming. The private cove provides easy docking, fishing and swimming. The proximity to the BWCA entry point #1- Trout Lake, makes this an ideal base camp. Loons frequent the cove in the evening hours. It is close to several marinas and Moccasin Point Public Landing.
