Escape to Treasure Lake!

Salt box cottage nestled in the quiet woods of Treasure Lake. A beautiful rustic and clean getaway to ease the stress of a busy life. Great place for families and children.

Treasure Lake has three pristine lakes, two of the lakes have beaches for swimming and leisure located at Treasure lake and Bimini Lake, Marina, boat docks, paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, two golf courses, fishing, boating, hiking, biking trails, camping and the Country Club-Lakeview Lodge. (Please note you are not permitted to bring a boat or kayak into Treasure Lake if you are not a resident with a Treasure Lake permit sticker.)

Treasure Lake has all the amenities of a great getaway to a true Treasure in PA. Approximately a 2 hour and 15 minute drive from Pittsburgh. The wildlife wander peacefully throughout the gated community offering a wonderful and relaxing experience with nature.

The Treasure Lake Country Club has a pool that is reserved for use by resident owners but there are nearby public pools.

Air conditioning and forced air heat. Internet and cable TV installed.

Details of your stay: There will be clean bed linens, towels, 4 rolls toilet paper, 2 rolls paper towels. I will send the lockbox combination around 3 PM on your arrival date. There will be a small welcome gift in the refrigerator for you!

Fabulous Weekend at Treasure Lake

My mother, my husband and I visited Treasure Lake for a weekend getaway July 6-8, 2018. This house was perfect for the 3 of us with 2 bunkbed bedrooms to spare. The owner, Bob, was great to work with and quick to respond. He even left us a welcome gift in the refrigerator-very sweet. My Mom used the bed and bath on the main level so she didn’t have to use the spiral staircase. The location is ideal. We brought our bikes and enjoyed riding on the less busy roads close to the house. We loved New Providence Beach (it is posted that passes are required but we were not asked to show passes). We walked to Duffer’s Tavern (good pub food) for dinner on Friday and on Saturday to Lakeside Lodge for the amazing fireworks show. We were visited each day by a female deer and her two baby fawns. It was so enjoyable to see all the wildlife. This was the perfect choice for us (we didn’t need high-speed internet, cable TV, or AC). We were delighted by the home’s rustic charm, cleanliness, awesome location, and everything we needed for a very relaxing stay. Thank you, Bob for a fantastic weekend! We hope to be back soon!

A Treasure at Treasure Lake

We had a great time in Treasure Lake! The home was very cozy and had everything we needed. There were no surprises. Bob was very nice to speak with and explained up front that there was no a/c, cable, or wifi (although he mentioned that he was planning to add some of these features in the future). We felt we could "rough it" for a couple days. We were fine without the cable & wifi, our phones (Verizon) had plenty of signal for what we needed. The a/c was a little rougher to live w/out. If it had been a little cooler outside it wouldn't have been so bad, but we knew before we went that we wouldn't have it. He did provide window fans which helped a lot. The kitchen had all the dishes, pans, tools, etc. to prepare meals if desired. Everything was very clean and well kept. The code to the lock-box was emailed the day of check-in and it was very easy to access. The surrounding nature was beautiful and the lake was just a short walk. Bob was very easy to communicate with and very helpful. He emailed suggestions of places to visit, responded quickly when I needed help with one of the window fans, and even left a little gift for us in the fridge...dark chocolate, my favorite! We would definitely rent this home again!

Nice Getaway!

We really enjoyed staying here. It was a very inviting and cozy atmosphere. It has everything you need. We explored surrounding towns and the Allegheny National Forest. We rented kyayks and enjoyed the lake. We definitely recommend making this your next destination.

Great House. Enjoyable Getaway.

The house was very clean, cozy, welcoming and we'll stocked. Bob was so great to communicate with. He provided lots of information about the area, and clear instructions about the house. We enjoyed a relaxing stay, and would highly recommend.

Family Get-Away

Very nice place for a family get-away. We really enjoyed the antique-ish furniture, etc. The large porch is a great place for meals, games, etc. And it is in a nice location. We took many walks around the neighborhood. Plus it is not far from the beach, tennis courts, swimming pool, etc. (Only one negative aspect - there were a lot of ants in the kitchen. LOL!)

Deer for meighbors

Nice home in quiet neighborhood with 3 lakes and a golf course. Good hiking trails in nearby parks and forest. House well equipped with kitchen supplies and lots of spices. Nice towels and comfortable beds. Highly recommended

Lacks Fire Safety

One way in- One way out. Back door was blocked off. Fire/Smoke alarms were installed, but not at highest point on ceiling where smoke would gather first. Kitchen and deep sink in furnace area did not have Ground Fault receptacles. Wiring to lights in kitchen and furnace room not properly installed with conduit. All the above did not make me feel the place was a safe place to stay at night. Front door had to be lifted to latch properly. Need a listing of TV channels provided so constant surfing isn't needed. Everything was clean and all supplies were well provided.

Winter weekend stay

My bestie, her grown son, myself, and my 12 year old grandson enjoyed our stay. We were there for a weekend so we could go to Punxsatawny for Ground Hog day. As we arrived, we were greeted by the beautiful sight of 4 deer in our front yard! Though it feels like you are really out in the country, neighbors are close by, and there is a country club associated with the development, so you won't be isolated. The house is spacious, and there are plenty of needed items in the kitchen so you can cook and serve a full meal. Robert left us firewood, and we made a fire one of the nights. There are a lot of charming vintage touches that make it feel homey. We did not try local restaurants but I understand there is a country club with food nearby. Do be careful on the stairs, it's kind of a tight spiral. There is a downstairs twin bed and bath, so if you want to bring Grandma and she cannot negotiate the staircase, there is a first floor option. I would like it if there were wifi, but for a short time, it is good for the family to unplug. We may go again. I would bet it is even more enjoyable in the summer!

Charming house, beautiful area!

Very nice place to stay, felt right at home!!

The overall experience with Bob and the house was awesome. We ended up having to change the days around and Bob was so nice and helpful through the whole thing. He gave great instructions and ideas on places to eat and see while at Treasure Lake. Treasure Lake is a beautiful community with friendly people and a great place to, at Duffers Tavern. Great food both times we ate there. The cabin felt like we were right at home, and loved the old movies to watch. Such a nice relaxing place to stay!!

I purchased this cottage in 1988 and completely remodeled it. We used it when our children were growing up and now, we use it less frequently. I would like to let others enjoy the great times at Treasure Lake. The exterior was completely renovated in 2020.
