2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 8
Our charming, spacious 2 bedroom cabin on our private one acre island has 360 degree views of Fish Trap Lake. A beautiful, huge stone fireplace separates the living room from the kitchen/dining area. There is one full bath, a complete kitchen with oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cable TV and DVD player, and air conditioning. The cabin sleeps 7 on beds (2 queens and 1 twin) and a futon (inner spring full mattress).
If lying in a hammock just feet away from the water is not how you want to spend your entire vacation (though maybe most of it), some of the best walleye fishing on the lake is located just yards off the island. Cabin rental comes with a canoe and row boat, but motorized boats and pontoons are available for rent. The outside patio comes with wrought iron chairs and table and a charcoal grill. A bonfire pit is located with great views of sunsets over the water. The swimming area, while small, is adequate for one family and is nice and sandy.

Why Heather and Brian Sams chose Scandia Valley
Who hasn't dreamed of living on an island? Even as we were working hard to create this place, we felt as if we’d left the cares of our “world back there” behind each time we set foot on the island. Now we want to share that experience with you.
What makes this Cabin unique
Incredible views and the privacy of your own island alone make this a premier vacation spot, but the gorgeous fireplace, wood floors, charming decor, and modern amenities make it even more desirable. If you feel being on an island may be a little too secluded, there is a resort with a coffee and ice cream shop, cute gift shop, rec center with full gym, fitness center, and day spa, game room, and laundry room only a couple of minutes across the water and a bar and restaurant just a few minutes' walk from there.

First Folks to rent on the island
My family and I had a great time. Resort was very helpful for little unforeseen needs. My girls caught more crappies right off the dock than they did from the boat. Enough of a beach to park the jet skis. It was fun to need to use the boat to go to shore instead of just walking. We already made reservations for next year.
Our vacation on the Island was wonderful! The cabin is lovely, clean, and so nicely decorated. It was delightful to sit and read in the evening with the breeze coming in the windows, while curled up in a comfortable chair with the lake right outside the huge windows in each wall. The extreme privacy and having an island all to yourself is such a treat and a wonderful adventure. It was great to get up with the sun to go out and paddle and watch the bald eagles and the loons and then paddle back and leave the kayaks on the beach until we needed them again. We enjoyed the fun of getting to paddle in to the resort for ice cream, crafts, campfire donuts and many of the other fun activities that are offered. And then it was great to return to the solitude of the island, sitting on the dock and dangling our feet in the lake, lying in the hammock, cooking over a fire, doing puzzles, and watching sunsets. The lake is beautiful, and it is a great location, where it isn’t too far to the Paul Bunyan bike trail, restaurants or many other fun things we found to do. The owners are delightful and our stay was such fun and filled with so many wonderful memories. We can't wait for next year, we already plan to stay even longer than we did this year!
